Wright and other relatives In Raleigh Christmas, then came by for a short visit with his sisters, Mrs. E. T. Brock and Mrs. Hoscoe Bundy here and Mrs. Joe Year gan in Raeford and their families before returning to Columbus Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. William Mottley and sons of Burkevllle, Va. and Miss Sarah Ncal McKeithan of Hampton, Va. spent Christmas ' with Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Mc Keithan. Mr. and Mrs. McKeithan had all their children at home except Wesley, who is in Sharon, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Hutchinson and family of Columbus, Ga. are spending the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Beasley. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. McFadyen visited their son, A. B. McFadyen, in Winston-Salem last week. Services at Tabernacle Church Sunday night were conducted by college students at home for the holidays. Miss Sallie Gibson gave an interesting account of college life at Campbell College, Bute's Creek; the scripture was read by Miss Betty Jean Wood of Peace College, Raleigh, and the sermon was by Bobby McColl of Camp bell College, who is studying for the ministry. Mis. Lona Smith and son of Maxton visited her brother, N. J. Rittcr and Mrs. Ritter last week. Mr. Ritter is recuperating at his home after an operation at High smith Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Miller had as their guests for the Christmas holidays, Mr. and Mrs. T. Snead and their three children of Bo lovia, Tenn. Since the Snead children had never seen the ocean, Mr. and Mrs. Miller and their guests went to the beach Sunday and the visitors left for their home in Tennessee Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lovette had as their guests on Christmas day Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Scull and family of Wayside, Mrs. Mary Shewbridge and Mr. and Mrs. John Lentz and son, Sidney, of Raeford. Miss Jane Wood, student nurse at Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, who did not get here for Christmas, has arrived to spend a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Wood. Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Brock of St. Pauls were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Brock on Christmas day. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Wood and sons, Craig and Marion visited relatives in Dillon, S. C. Sunday. Mrs. Doug Monroe visited Mrs. Clyde McGill of Fayetteville Monday. Mfld MrSi B' B- Bostic nad Mr. Vmi Mrs. Tom Rogers of Warsaw as their guests the past week end. We also sympathize with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Heath, who have had a scries of deaths in their family recently. First her broth er died, next her grandmother, and last week Mr. Heath's sister, Mrs. John L. West, passed away suddenly in North Wilkesboro. She was buried at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church cemetery near Wade last Wednesday. Some of the newcomers that we gave a welcome to some time ago are: Mr. and Mrs. Ned Saunders of Diaz, Ala. and Mr. and Mrs. Horace Roberts of Corline, Ky. These are soldier families and live in the Ritter apartment. This community was shocked and saddened last Thursday 1o hear of the automobile wreck that took the life of A. R. Sanders, and we extend our deepest sym pathy to the bereaved.
