^ Farewell Party McKoy-Sellars Vows for Mickey Riddle ^ oissy Moses entertained with a surprise farewell party last Wednesday for Mickey Riddle. Mickey and her family are moving to Southern Pines. Punch, cupcakes, potato chips, cheese straws and nuts were served from the dining room table which was decorated with fruit and candles. Each g;uest brought a departure gift for the honorce. Those attending were Joanne Best, Robin Holland, Linda Currie, Cathy Leach, Debbie Bounds, Cathy Ashburn, Martha Ann Wood, Holly Brown, Dwan Upchurch and Margaret Postel. Shower Honors Mrs. Branch Miss Nancy Lipscomb and Miss Barbara Creech were hostesses for a miscellaneous bridal shower Thursday honoring a recent bride, Mrs. Ronnie Branch. The party was held at the Lipscomb home on old 401 Highway. The dining room table was oentered with an arrangement of mums. The hostesses served punch, cake squares, mints and nuts. Fifteen guests were present. Robert Harrell Birthday Dance Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Harrell gave a dance Saturday night at the Civic Center for their son Robert L. Jr. on the occasion of liis 19th birthday. The 150 guests danced to music by the "Casuals" of Fayettevillc from 8 until 12. The refreshment table, decorated in the New Year motif, held assorted cookies, potato chips and Cokes. Chapcrones with the Harrells were Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Macko, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Peoples, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Coins and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Avery. Betsy T Hcmewcod Hcncred Friday A Coke party honoring Betsy Tom Homewood was given by Marilyn Barnes and Beth Wood on Friday afternoon at the Wood home on H. Prospect Avenue. Betsy Tom will be moving to Greer. S.C., later this month. Tltc refreshment table was centered with yellow daisy pompons. Cokes, coconut macaroons, nuts, cheese straws and sandwiches were served. An autograph book was given to Betsy Tom and each girl wrote "farewells" in it. The hostesses gift to the honorec was a chain necklace. Public Affairs Dept. Meeting The Public Affairs Department of the Raeford Woman's Club met on Tuesday nighl. January 6. at the home of Mrs. Wendell Young. Mrs. Kate McPliaul and Mis. Russ Parker were co-hostesses. Mrs. James Wf a r ner. Chairman, reminded members to come to the February meeting prepared to join the Hoke County Association for Mentally Retarded. Plans were made to hold a white elephant sale at the February meeting. Members were reminded that exhibits for the Fine Arts Festival are to be in the Raeford Methodist Church Fellowship Mall on Fcbruaiv 3 between the hours of two and five. Miss Peggy Belliune gave an interesting review of the current best seller by Gay Talese. "The Kingdom and the Power". George Dickson ol Ft. Lauderdale. Ila. visited relatives here the past weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Lovelace and children of Gaffney. S.C., Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Ritchie and sons of Charlotte, and Mrs. Lawrence McCormick and grandson. Michael McCormick, of Nicltols, S.C. visited Mr. and Mrs. H.R. McLean during the holidays. Stints of Mr. and Mrs. Waller Maxwell for the Christmas holidays were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Maxwell and three Kits of Wilmington. Mr. and Mrs. John J. Maxwell and Iter two tons of Jacksonville, Fla. and his two sons of Chapel Hill. Miss Katie Magdalene Sellars, daughter of Mrs. Sallie Sellars of Route I, McLeansville and the late Riley Sellars, and Pvt. Henry Edward McKoy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey McKoy of Route 3* Red Springs, were united in marriage at 4 p.m , Christmas Day in Providence Baptist Church, Greensboro. Officiating the holiday ceremony was tire Rev. Howard Chubbs, pastor of the church. Miss Paula Banks was the organist. For Iter wedding, the bride wore a full length gown of white velvet, with long sleeves trimmed in mink and A-linc skirt. The bride's brother. Robert Sellars of Baltimore, gave her in marriage. Her sister, Mrs. Walter Meares of Washington, D.C., served as matron of honor. Katrina Meares, a niece of Washington, served as flower girl and a nephew, Brian W a t I i 11 g t o n , also of Washington, was ring bearer. The bridegroom had his brother, Willie McKoy, for best inan. Another brother, Harvey McKoy, ushered with Riley Sellars, brother of the bride. Immediately following the ceremony, the couple was honored by the bride's mother with a reception in the Fellowship Hall of the church. The bride is a graduate of A&T State University, where she is currently employed as a secretary in the Office of Planning and Development.
