Lewis-Webb Mr. and Mrs. Reuben H Webb announce the marriage of their daughter, Harriett, tc David Lewis on February 27 in Chesterfield, S.C. He is the son of Mrs. Troy B. Lewis ol Laurel Hill and the late Mr Lewis. The bride is a graduate ol Hoke High School and Richmond Technical Institute and is now stationed with the USAF at Shcppard AFB in Texas. The bridegroom is a graduate of Laurel Hill High School and in employed by the A & P in Rockingham. BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Sams announce the birth of a daughter. Dawn Michelle, on February 22, at Moore Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Jolui Collar of Clarksvillc, Va. announce the birth of a son, Jcffery Todd, on February 20, at Moore Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Gollar is the former Jenelle Snead. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Wood of Thomasville announce the birth of a daughter, Deborah Kay, born February 24, 1970 at High Point Memorial Hospital. BRIDGE Mrs. Church Members of her bridge club and two visitors, Mrs. Younger Snead Jr. and Mrs. Lauchlin MacDonald, met with Mrs. Ed Church on Thursday night. She served dessert and coffee when guests arrived and Cokes and nuts during the evening. Mrs. William T. Niven won the high score prize and Mrs. Wyatt Upchurch received the consolation. Mrs. McKeithan Mrs. Herbert McKeithan was hostess for tire Coca-Cola Bridge Club Wednesday afternoon of last week. All members were present. Coffee and dessert were served before the bridge game. The high score prize went to Mrs. Israel Mann. Mrs. Mafheson Mrs. R.A. Matheson entertained a bridge club last Thursday night. Visitors were Mrs. J.C. McLean, Mrs. Bobby Carter and Mrs. Herbert McKeithan. Using the St. Patrick's motif, the hostess served dessert and coffee. Prizes went to Mrs. T.C. Scarborough for club high score and to Mrs. McLean for visitor's high. Club Calendar The Chaminade Music Club will meet at the Hoke Civic Center Tuesday at 7:40 p.m. Hostesses will be Mrs. Jack Mansfield, Mrs. Steve Hedgpeth, Mrs. James Stewart and Miss Jessie Bright Ferguson. Mrs. Flossie Hurst and Family. 43c Senior Citizens Meet At Pond Members of the senior Citizen's Friendship Club field their March meeting Tuesday at the Ralph Barnhart cottage at Lake Elizabeth near Raeford. Hostesses were Mrs. Ralph Barnhart, Mrs. Edmund Murray, Mrs. Crawford Thomas, Sr., and Mrs. Carlton Niven. Thirty - two members were present. The club members enjoyed the beautiful setting and Tuesday's warm spring weather. Miss Isabel McFadyen, the president, conducted the business meeting after which the group enjoyed playing bingo and singing several old familiar songs. The next meeting will be a luncheon at the Shaw House in Southern Pines. Mrs. Buie Honored By Co-Workers Mrs. Delaine Bute was honored at a luncheon by her co-workers in the Hoke County Department of Social Services on the occasion of her resignation from the agency. The affair was held Monday at the Family Restaurant with place cards at the table for the following.
