their daughter, Victoria Marie, to William Clarence Jones, son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Allen Jones. ~Q}e betrothal was made known
at a family dinner Sunday.
Miss Fraiim is a student at UNC-Charlotte, majoring in nursing.
The bridegrih>m-elect is a Navy veteran and is employed by
Universal Ql.T. Credit Corp. in Fayetteville.
The wedding will take place August 22 at St. Patrick's in
FavetteviUe.

Baker's Dozen
Mrs. Bill McPhaul and Mrs.
Jay Phillips were hostesses
Thrusday night tor the Baker's
Dozen Bridge Club at the
Phillips home. Mrs. Mike
Pegram of Clarksville, Va. was
the only visitor.
Cokes and dessert were
served before the game.
Prizes went to Mrs. Doug
Wallace for high score and to
Mrs. Tom Reaves for second
high.
Mr. and Mrs. S B. Benjamin of
Ft. Worth. Texas were
overnight guests Monday of
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dickson.
Mrs. Ashley
Mrs. Mitchell Sports and
Mrs. Lillie Hawkins were
visitors to the bridge club last
Tuesday night at the home of
Mrs. George Ashley Jr. The
hostess served cheese cake and
summer punch between
progressions.
Mrs. Hank Richards received
the high score prize.

The Chaminade Music Club
neld its final meeting of the
year at the Hoke Civic Center
t uesday evening.
A short business meeting
was held with the president
Mrs. John Campbell, presiding.
Mrs. Graham Culbreth of
Southern Pines tendered her
resignation as a member of the
Club and names of some
prospective members were
presented.
Mrs. Julian King was leader
of the program. She told about
the Hymn of the Month,
Lord, Dismiss Us with Thy
Blessing by Tattersall. It was
then sung, with Mr. Josef
rrivette accompanying.
The program was given by
some piano pupils of the music
teachers of Raeford. Those
taking part on the program

A Saturday afternoon tea at
the Charles Hostetler home was
honor for two brides - elect,
Miss Gwen McNeill and Miss
Susan Gibson. Other hostesses

Willard Shell and Mrs. Frank
Blue.
Miss McNeill and Gary Brent
Ashburn have planned a June
14 wedding and Miss Gibson
and Malcolm Nash Clark Jr.
will be married on June 28.

For Miss Sellars
Mrs. Bobby Strother and Mrs.
Joe Holt entertained with a
bridal shower Friday night at
the Holt home honoring Miss
Delia Sellars.
The dining room table was
covered with white linen and
decorated with an arrangement
of roses and green candles.
Bridal cake squares, cheese
wafers, punch, nuts and mints
were served. Mrs. W.C. Sellars,
mother of the honoree, served
cake, and Mrs. W.C. GifmTTre,
mother of the prospective
bridegroom, poured punch.
Gifts for Miss Sellars from
the hostesses were a corsage of
--yettow rosebuds and a toaster.
Bride - elect Susan Gibson was
remembered with a kitchen

dining room. The table held a
large silver candelabrum
arrangement of pink roses and
candles. A similar arrangement
was used on the buffet. Yellow
iris and roses decorated the
living room.
Pink iced punch, pink and
white bridal cakes, tiny cheese
wafers and salted pecans were
served.
The hostesses were assisted
by Miss Julia Ann Gibson. Miss
Fonda Blue and Mrs. JC.

Honors Two
A stork shower held Monday
night at the Civic Center was
given for Mrs. W.K. Morgan
and Mrs. Nathan McGee.
Hostesses were Mrs. Larry
Phillips, Mrs. Billy Lester. Mrs.
Jim Brown and Mrs. William
Garner
Using a pink color note, the
hostesses arranged the table
with a white lace over pink
cloth and centered it with pink
roses. They served punch, cake
squares, nuts and mints.
