Little of Raleigh. Miss Maurcr is also the daughter of William Maurcr of Aberdeen, and the granddaughter of Mrs. John A. McKeithan of Raeford. An August 2V wedding is planned. Bridal Couple Honored Friday Miss Mamie Livingston and Wilber Spears were honored Friday night with a dinner party given by Mr. and Mrs. John Balfour. Guests included members of the wedding party. A silver candelabrum with yellow candles, yellow flowers and ribbon streamers centered the dining room table which was spread with a white linen cutwork cloth. Guests were seated at five card tables on the patio adjoining the dinniag room. Each table was covered with a yellow cloth and centered with a silver candlestick and yellow candle. Places were marked with daisy and rice place cards. The bride was presented a corsage of white carnations and the couple received a gift of silver candlesticks. Miss Mayme McKeithan returned home Monday from Columbia, S.C. where she attended commencement exorcises for her two nieccs, Lydia Ray and Becky Lynn Davis, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. William McKeithan Davis, formerly of Raeford. Lydia Ray received the B.A. degree in education from U.S.C. and Becky Lynn was graduated from Eau Claire High School. Coke Party Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock, Mrs. Bobb\ Strother and Miss Vicky Gillis honored Misses Abbie Best, Susan Gibson and Gwcn McNeill with u Coke part>. The three honorees were given corsages of pink roses and gifts of electric mixers. Mixed summer flowers decorated the refreshment table where the hostesses served open ? face sandwiches, assorted cookies, nuts and Cokes. Dessert Bridge Mrs. Bob Town send entertained with a dessert bridge Friday afternoon honoring Misses Gwen McNeill and Susan Gibson. When guests arrived dessert was served at the bridge tables which were arranged in the living room and den. Prizes went to Mrs. Charles Hosteller for high score and to Miss Gibson for consolation. The honorees were presented gifts of crystal. Coffee Hour Mrs. J.H. Austin, Mrs. Julius Jordan and Mrs. William L. Moses were hostesses for an informal coffee hour Saturdav morning at the Moses home. Upon their arrival corsages were presented to the Misses Gwen McNeill, Abbie Best and Susan Gibson. The dining room table was spread with a white cloth and centered with a candelabrum arrangement of pink roses and candles. Coffee, sandwiches, ham biscuits, nuts sesame sticks and confections were served. The three honorees received gifts of china, crystal and linen Bridal Shower Fetes Miss Floyd Miss Linda Floyd, June bride - elect, was feted Monday night with a bridal shower held at the home of Mrs. June Stanley. Other hostesses were Mrs. Billy Floyd of Rose Hill and Mrs. Earl Floyd. A pink and green motif was used in the dining room area where the table was covered with a green linen cloth and centered with a pink and green floral arrangement and pink candles. The honoree received a shower of gills front the guests and a gilt of china and white carnation corsage from the hostesses. BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs Edgar W Lefler. JR Home Ceremony Unites Miss Loyton, Mr. Paul Miss Catherine Anne Layton became the bride of Luther Sylvester Paul Jr. on Sunday afternoon at four o'clock at the home of the bride. Mrs. Helen S. Barrington officiated for the double ring vows. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Martin Layton and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. L.S. Paul. An arrangement of white mums, gladioli and pompons on the living room mantel and baskets of white flowers formed an improvised altai. Music was furnished by Mrs. Linda Layton, sister ? in - law of the bride, and Mrs. Rov K. Brock, aunt of the bride, who sang, "Because". "O Promise Me" and "The Weddm; Pravcr".
