MRS. MACYREDMAN Redman - McPhatter Weddinq July 4 On Saturday, July 4, the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Jones in Berkeley, California, was the setting for the one o'clock wedding of Miss Bettye L. McPhatter of Route 3, Red Springs, and Macy Redman of Fallen, Nevada. The bride is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Neil McPhatter and Mr. Redman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry A. Redman of Wilkesboro. The Rev. Sandford Bates officiated for the double ring ocremony. Given in marriage by her mother, the bride wore a formal white gown and a shoulder-length veil attached to a lace crown. She carricd a bouquet of pink carnations tied with pink ribbon. The bride's attendant was Miss Grace Gelreath, and the bridegroom's brother, Swanson Redman of the U. S. Army, served as best man. The bride is a graduate of Upchurch High School, attended North Carolina University at Durham, and in 1969 recieved her B. S. degree from Winston-Salem State University. Stone of Fayetteville, and Mrs. Ed Manning entertained with a floating bridal shower Thursday night at the Manning home honoring Miss Vicki Frahm. Corsages of carnations were presented the honoree, her mother, Mrs. Leonard Frahm, and the prospective bridegroom's mother, Mrs. J. A. Jones. A lavender color note was used in the dining room where the table was spread with white overlaid with lavender net. Silver candelabra held candles and epergnes filled with lavender mums and ivy. Punch, lavender-iced cake squares, nuts and mints were served. Stacy Stone of Fayetteville and Christy Frahm poured punch. The hostesses presented Miss Frahm with a gift of lingerie. Williams, Jr. Miss Yvonne McPhatter was married to Freddie B. Williams Jr., June 28, at Center Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. E. Kd wards officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank McPhatter, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Williams of McBeam, Georgia. Wedding music was furnished by Russel McAllister Jr., organist and Mrs. Harrell of Personals Mr. and Mrs. Watson Gillis were here overnight Tuesday with his brother and family, Mr. and Mis. Harold Gillis, enroute from Myrtle Beach, S. C. to their home in Springfield, Va. Mr. and Mrs. F.llery Summer left Tuesday for their home in Jerome. Idaho, after a visit here with her mother, Mrs. Julius Niven. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Holyfield and sons spent the weekend with relatives in Dobson. Mr. and Mrs. William Culledge, Miss Mary Jo Gulledge and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fuller have returned to their home in Kansas City following a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gulledge and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gulledge. Mrs. J W. McPhaul, Mrs. Luke McNeill, Mrs. Bobby Carter and Mrs. T. B. Lester spent several days the first of the week at the McPhaul cottage at llolden Beach. Mr. and Mrs. J. Scott McFadycn of Fayctteville and Mrs. Herbert McKeitlian have returned from a trip to the mountains. They carried their sister. Mrs. H. A. Ramsey, to liei home in Marshall after she had visited with relatives in Raelord and Fayetteville. Dr. and Mrs. Marcus Smith spent several da\s last week in the mountains. Laurinburg, soloist. Given in marriage by her brother, Thomas McPhatter, the bride wore a floor length gown of white angel skin peau and sequin-embroidered pcau d' angle lace in empire design with a-line silhouette, batteau neckline, and long fitted sleeves with lace motifs at the outlines. A Chapel length panel train was attached to the shoulder line. The bride's headwear was a cluster of organza petals, outlined with seed pearls and decorated with rhinestones, with elbow-length veil of illusion. She carried a bouquet of white roses. Attending her aunt as maid of honor was Miss Nora Singletary of New York. Bridesmaids were Miss Aggree McPhatter sister of the bride, Washington.D. C.. Miss Patricia Graham, neice of the bride, Mrs. Lucille McGreagor and Mrs. Lucille McLean of Raeford. The flower girl was Deidre Renee Hendrix, grandneice of the bride and ring bearer was Todd Harrell of Laurinburg. Murphy McRae Jr. of Raeford was best man. Ushers were F.ljah and Alexander Williams, brothers of the bridegroom, Ronnie Leon McPhatter nephew of the bride, Harrison Southerland and Cleo Bratcher. all of Raeford. Following the ceremony the brides' family entertained with a reception in the South Hoke School Cafeteria. The newlyweds are making their home in McBean, Georgia. Mrs Hubbard Bridge Hostess Members of her bridge club and two visitors, Mrs. Joe Upchurch and Mrs. Bill Smith, met with Mrs. Irvin Hubbard on Thursday night. She served salad and coffee when guests arrived and lemonade and nuts during play. Shower Fetes Miss Beosley Bride-elect Mickey Beasley was honored with a miscellaneous shower last Wednesday night at the Educational Building of Antioch Presbyterian Church. Mrs. William Davis and Mrs. Radford Collins were hostesses. Upon her arrival Miss Beasley was presented a corsage of white pompons.
