Unleaded and Low-lead Gas

change Service (AAFES)
throughout the continental
United States will have the
capability to dispense un
lehded or low-lead gasolines
by July 1, 1971, according to
Maj. Gen. William B. Camp
bell. chief of AAFES.
The action is being taken
to support the national p<-o
gram directed against en
vironmental pollutants.
AAFES is undertaking an
eight-month construction and
modification program to in
stall the underground stor
age tanks, piping and pumps
necessary for dispensing the
new gasolines.
First availability of the
unleaded gasoline is expected
to be in the Southeastern
United States in November.

A house plan that could
accommodate up to a dozen
family members is available
from the Hoke County
Agricultural Extension office.
The house features plenty of
storage space, two full baths,
kitchen with laundry area,
living room, three bedrooms
and a large dormitory ? style
bedroom.
The work area - L shaped
kitchen and laundry - are
readily accessible to the
outside. The additional storage

The society is directed by
Russell McAllister, Jr., and
Walter L. Green, Jr., is the
accompanist. George Cromwell
will narrate.

the Extension Housing
Specialist, N.C. Stai-e
University, as part of
Extension's effoit to help
families meet their housing
needs.

Methodist Church near Five

holiday open house at the
senior Sneads' on W. Prospect
Ave. honoring Mrs. A.C.L. Hill
of Kinston. Mrs. Hill, sister of
Mrs. Sncad Sr.. has moved to
Raeford to make her home
and, after the holidays, will be
living on W. Donaldson Ave.
Boxwood Christmas trees
decorated the front doors
where guests were greeted by
Mr. and Mrs. J. Lawrence
McNeill and Mr. and Mrs. H.L.
Qatlin.
The living rooms were made
festive with arrangements of
red poinscltias, red candles and
holiday greens. The arch
between the rooms were
draped with swags of
evergreens decorated with a red
bow and mistletoe ball.
Mrs. Duncan McFadyen and
Mrs. Ralph Barnhart directed
guests to the dining room for
refreshments. The table was
centered with a five - branched
silver candelabrum with red
candles and epergncs filled
with red carnations, fern and
boxwood garlands. The serving
table held a fresh apple and
pineapple tree.
Cranberry punch, iced
holiday cakes, cheese wafers,
lemon tarts, chicken salad
pastries, gla/ed nuts and
candies were served. Assisting
in the dining room were Mrs.
R A. Matheson. Mrs. Marcus
Smith. Mrs. C'.L. Thomas. Mrs.
N.A. McDonald and Mrs. Paul
Dickson.
Feature decoration ot' the
gieen and gold color note used
in the den was a gold
candelabrum w ith cold candles,
boxwood and tiny goto
banjoes. Here, goodbyes were
said by Mr and Mrs. Toutmie
Upchurch and Mr. and Mrs.
