*^^(MLLcJL ^^VQmJCcl/ Mary Scott McFadyen Wed To Mr. Plummer Wedding vows were pledged Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at MaePherson Presbyterian Church by Miss Mary Scott McFadyen. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Fleetwood McFadyen Jr. of Fayetteville. and Fred Graham Plumnier, son of Mr and Mrs. Ralph Graham Plumnier of Raeford. The Rev. Charles F.. Kirkpatrick performed the double ring ceremony. Miss Margaret [.dens, organist, and Mrs. Neill A. McNeill, vocalist, presented a program of nuptial music. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal empire gown of antique satin made with Chantilly lace front and cap sleeves. The gown, created by the mother of the bridegroom, featured a high collar and A ? line skirt which extended into a court sweep train, tier chapel ? length veil of silk illusion was attached to a crown of pearls. She carried a bouquet of stephanotis and mums centered with a white orchid. Mrs. Richard L. Caldwell of Fayetteville, matron of honor, wore an empire gown of blue dotted Swiss, designed with high neckline, cap sleeves, and bodice accented with white lace entwined with blue satin ribbon. She wore a profile headpiece of white mums and carried a basket filled with babies breath, mums and white daisies with an accent of blue. Wearing costumes and carrying flowers like those of the honor attendant, the bridesmaids were: Miss Barbara Fay Honeycutt of Wade, roommate of the bride; Miss Becky Plummer of Raeford. sister of the bridegroom; and Mrs. John A Plumnier of Ft. Bragg, sister ? in - law of the bridegroom. Mr. Plummer was his son's best man. Ushers were Capiain John A. Plummer of Ft. Bagg and Stephen A Plummer of Raeofrd. brothers of the bridegroom; John K Hubbaid III of FayettcMlle and Cail Kornegay of Seven Springs Following the ceremony, the " bride's parents gave a reception in the chuich fellowship lull Later the newlywcds left on a trip to the mountains of North Carolina l!pon their return, they will make their home in Goldsboro. The bride is a graduate of Seventy - First High School and attended Worth Business School and Pembroke State University. The bridegroom, a graduate of Hoke High School, recently completed a tour of duty with the U S Air Force, lie is piesently attending Wayne Community College and is engaged in farming. Luncheon Wednesday Miss McFadyen was honored at an itifoinial luncheon Wednesday at the home of Mrs. David Wilson in Fayetteville. Places weie set for 12 guests .it tables spread w ith pale green linen and ccnteied with ariangemcnts ot summer flowers. Scott McFadyen and Mr. and Mrs. J. Scott McFadyen Jr. The meal was served from a table covered with an olive green linen cloth and decorated with an arrangement of mixed (lowers in a silver container. Guests were seated at auxiliary tables where green cloths and centerpieces of mixed flowers were used. The house was decorated throughout with summer flowers and greenery. Upon arrival, corsages of roses were presented to Miss McFadyen. her mother and Mrs. Plumincr. Bridesmaids Luncheon Miss McFadyen was honored on Friday noon at a bridesmaids luncheon in Maxton. Hostesses were Misses Mary and Ann McKinnon. Miss Jtihnsie Patterson of Chapel Mill. Mrs. Roger Cole of Stratford, Conn.. Mrs. Rust Wooley of Wagram and Mrs. George Ford of Louisburg. The honorec was presented a corsage of pink carnations. Tables were centered with pink carnations and snapdragons. Guests included the bridal attendants and the mothers of the bridal couple. Miss McFadyen received a gift of crystal in her chosen pattern. She presented gifts to her attendants. Post-rehearsal Party An after-rehearsal party for the Plummer ? McFadyen wedding party and out of town guests was given Friday evening at Windway Farm, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hubbard. Hosts with the Hubbards were Mr and Mrs. Johnnie Hubbard and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth, McKethan Sr. Mixed summer flowers were used throughout the rooms. The refreshment table was spread with a white lace and linen cloth and centered with a candelabrum and mixed flowers. Mrs. Johnnie Hubbard served punch, assisted by Mrs. Jack Hubbard and Mrs. McKethan. Sixty guests attended. bridge Mrs. Carter Mrs. Bobby Caiter entertained her bridge club Thursday evening of last week at her home on N. Main St. Before the game, she served a dessert course to club members and the two vititors, Mrs. Wyatt Upchurch and Mrs. Billy Lester. Prizes went to Mrs. Ransom Baucom for club high score, to Mrs. Lester for visitor's high, and to Mrs Fred Holland for consolation. Mrs. Bledsoe Club members and two visitors, Mrs. Paul Burnett and Mrs. John Pecora, met with Mrs. Lonnie Bledsoe on Thursday night. The hostess served dessert and coffee when her guest arrived and Cokes and nuts during progressions. The club high score prize was awarded to Mrs. Bennie Kelly and the visitor's high to Mrs. Burnett. Mrs. June Johnson won the bingo prizes. Mrs. Gentry Mrs. Buddy Gentry was hostess for her bridge club Thursday night at her home on E. Fifth Ave. She served nuts and Cokes during the evening and dessert and coffee between progressions. Two of the club members were given farewell gifts - Mrs. Lonnie Hendrix, who will be moving to Hot Springs, and Mrs. Craig Clodfelter who is leaving soon for Hendersonville. Mrs. Clodfelter won high score prize for the evening, with Mrs. J.R. Ingram and Mrs. Sandy Thompson sharing other honors. Mrs. Langdon Club members and visitors' Mrs. Gary Ikenberry and Mrs. Martin Webb met with Mrs. Glenn Langdon on Tuesday night. Dessert was served when guests arrived. Punch, nuts and mints were served during progressions. Club high score prize was won by Mrs. Palmer Willcox. Visitors high score to Mrs. Webb. Cox, last week enroute from Raleigh to Ontario, Calif., where Mr. Clary has accepted work with the Texfi Corp. Miss Shari Reid of Roanoke, Va., was guest last week of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Copper and family. Mr. and Mrs. Berder Niven visited her sister and brother ? in ? law. Mr. and Mrs. R. McL. Duke, in Tappahanock, Va. last week. They spent the weekend at Surf Gty. Miss Gail Lavinder of Landover, Md.. is spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Copper and children. Mrs. Lina Angstadt left Friday for Ft. Huachuco, Arizona, to join her husband. Sfc. Eugene Angstadt, who is attending O&l School until August 27. They will visit his brother and family in Amarillo, Texas and friends in Maggie Valley on their return. Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Freeman returned home Saturday after spending the week with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. N.M. Flippinger of Newport News, Va., and Mrs. Freeman's sister, Mrs. Russell Terrell of Portsmouth, Va. They also went on a historical tour of Jamestown. Mrs. David Lovelte and children are in Elkin this week for a visit with her parents. The Rev. Walter Smith officiated for the double ring rites. The bride ts the daughter of Mrs. Robert J. Furmage of Parkton and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John P. Smith of Raeford. Wedding music was furnished by Miss Linda Kay Barlow, organist, and Mrs. Betsy Daniel.soloist. The bride was given in marriage by her brother. Robert J. Furmage III. She wore a street ? length empire dress of moonlight polyester overlaid with organza. Her organza veil was bordered with lace and she carried a bouquet of yellow roses. Miss Audrey Leigh Furmage of Parkton. sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She was attired in an empire- dress of candlelight blue taffeta overlaid with dotted Swiss and carried a single mum. The bridegroom's father served as best man. Ushers were John Wayne Smith and Donny Smith of Raeford, brothers of the bridegroom. Following the wedding ceremony, the bride's mother entertained with a reception in the church fellowship hall. After a wedding trip to the coast, the couple will be at home in Raleigh at the home of the bride, 204 Park Ave. The bride is a graduate of Pembroke State University. The bridegroom is attending N.C. State University. Luncheon, Supper Honor Davis's Mrs. John Reid Davis was feted with a luncheon Wednesday of last week given by Mrs. Lawrence McNeill at Balentine's Cafeteria in Fayetteville. Mrs. Davis, who with her family moved last week to Oxford, was presented a farewell gift. Tuesday of last week, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Barnhart and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Maxwell entertained with a steak supper at Lake Elizabeth honoring Mr. and Mrs. Davis.
