<^6-CLoJi Do ran Berry Is Speaker For Woman's Club Doran Berry, candidate for the seventh district congressional seat was the speaker Tuesday night at the open meeting of the Raeford Woman's Club. The meeting was held at 8 o'clock p.m. at the Raeford Civic Center. The Home Life Department served as hostesses and were in charge of the program. Mrs. Alfred K. Leach, Hoke County's first woman candidate for the School Board, was recognized. During the business meeting, presided over by Mrs. Hubert Cameron, firesident, plans were finalized or the Horse Show to be presented March 25, Mr. Berry was introduced by Mrs. Clayton Buoyer. He gave a brief history of the Friendshipi Foundation which wan organized in 1968 to help combat drug abuse in Fayetteville and Cumberland County. The Foundation now maintains a Friendship House, which combines a crisis center for drug addicts and a Halfway House for former addicts who need a place to stay following hospitalization or prison. The Friendship Foundation alno sponsors a farm in Cumberland County used as therapudlic community for former addicts. Berry said that law enforcement alone was not enough but that by giving of our time, financial resources, and love we could help prevent drug abuse in our community. Mrs. Adrain Blaine Warwick Warwick-Alsup Vows Spoken February 27 Miss Sherry Lynn Alsup, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Alsup. became the bride of Adrain Blaine Warwick, son of Mr. and Mrs. James K. Warwick, Sunday, February 27, in a ceremony solemnized in Grace Baptist Church. The Rev. Lee Rampey and the Rev. Dwight Cooper officiated at the double ring * service. Tom McFadyen, organist, and Larry Taylor, soloist, presented a program of nuptial music. The bride was given in , marriage by her father and was attired in a formal gown of white slata peau adorned with peau d'angc luce motifs re ? embroidered with pearls. The gown wus fashioned In Victorian design with high waistline and bodice overlaid with Venice luce. Lace accented the stand ? up collar, front of the gown and bordered the hem of the A-llne silhouette skirt and the cuffs of the camelot sleeves. The panel train was trimmed with four rows of lace. Her headpiece was a camelot csp of matching lace in flower motifs holding a three ? tier elbow length veil of illusion. She carried a cascade bouquet of lilies ? of ? the ? valley and pink sweetheart roses centered with a white orchid on a white Bible given to her by her grandmother.
