Alligood - Guy Vows Spoken In Favetteville . MacPherson Presbyterian Clturch in Fuyetteville was tire setting May 28 for the wedding of Miss Margaret Ann Guy and Charles Richard Alligood. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neill Pitman Guy and Mr. Alligood is tire son of Mrs. Paul Braddy Alligood of Fuyetteville, and the late Mr. Alligood. The Rev. Charles Kirkpatrick, pastor of the church and the Rev. Roscoe C. Hauser, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, officiated at the double ring ceremony. Nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Larry W. Parsons, soloist, Donald Snelgrovc, organist,and Miss Susan Drake, violinist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an empire organza gown with organza appliques on the bodice and Camelot sleeves. She wore a bridal hat of peau d' ange lace with Moral adornment and floor length organza streamers. She carried a basket of white roses, aephanotis and baby's breath. Mrs. Larry W. Parsons was matron of honor for her sister. She wore a dress of coral organza with matching picture hat, and carried a basket of mixed spring flowers. The bridesmaids, who wore dresses like the honor attendant's, were: Mrs. Samuel P. Guy, sister-in-law of the bride, in peacock blue; Miss Jerri J. Griffin, double-first cousin of the bride, in turquoise, both of Rayetteville; Miss Patricia Curran of Washington, D.C., in powder blue; Miss Beverly Nye of Red Springs, in orchid, and Miss Gwen Peed of Kayetteville, in mint green. They wore picture hats to match their rainbow colored dresses and each carried a basket of spring flowers. Children in the wedding c ifisa Mrs. Charles Richard Alligvud were Lynnc Ross, Blaii Daughtridge and Wayne Parsons. Paul B. Alligood Jr. of Falls Church, Va? attended his brother as best man. Ushers were Duncan B. McFadyenlll Michael McNeill, both oi Raeford, Howard S. Alligood Jr., Fayetteville, all first cousins of the bridegroom, Samuel Bo Guy, brother of the bride, and Larry W. Parsons her brother-in-law, both ol Fayetteville. The bride's parents entertained with a reception in the fellowship hall at the church, immediately following the ceremony. Later the couple left for a wedding trip and upon their return will be al home in Fayetteville. The bride is a graduate ol Seventy-First High School and Pembroke State University She is employed with Mrs Guy's Kindergarten. Hei husband is a graduate ol Fayetteville Senior High Schdol and of Pembroke State University. Cookout Honors Hoke Graduates A cookout was held Monday night at the Civic Center, after graduation, for a number of Hoke High graduates and their dates. School colors of red and white were used in the decorations. A combo furnished music for dancing during the evening. Allendale - Anfiocf Ruritan Club The Allcndale-Antioch Ruritan Club members, their wives and families met for an old-fashioned box supper on Thursday evening, June 1. Among the invited guests were State Representative Elect and Mrs. Frank White of Pembroke. Mr. White auctioned off the many well-filled boxes wltich were opened and served picnic style. Mr. and Mrs. Billy McNeill and family and Rita Jo Gillis are vacationing at Holden Beach. Miss Sharon Kay Morrison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Morrison of Route 1, Raeford, and George Ernest Raker Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. CM. Baker of Route I, were married Saturday June 3. at 4:00 p.m., at lake l.ynn Baptist Church near Fayettevilk. The Rev. Ronald Ijoftis officiated. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Miss Debbie Riddle. The bridegroom's brother, Dale Baker, served as best man. After a wedding trip to the coast, the ncwiyweds will be at home on Aberdeen Highway, Raeford. Mr. and Mrs. Baker both attended Hoke Qtunty High School. He is employed by Burlington Industries here. Arabia Women's Co If Tourney A large group of women were on hand Tuesday morning at Arabia Golf Club for a free clinic conducted by David Hendrix. Winners in t lie weekly tournament, which followed the clinic, were Ruby Baughn, Janice Biddix, Shirley Frahm, Louise Sawyer and Mina Town send. Officers for the current year are: Nick Gordon, president: Shirley Frahm, treasurer; and Nell Carter, tournament chairman. The president urges all women and high school age girls to enter the weekly tournaments. Kntry fees of $5 are being accepted by Shirley Frahm lor a two-day tournament to be held 011 June 21 and 22. The first round will be for qualifying and the second day players will be placed in flights. Raelord Chapter Of UDC A/leefs Mrs. J.L. Warner was hostess to the Raelord Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy last Wednesday afternoon, at 3:00 p.m.. at her home on Route 4. Mrs. N.B. Blue, chapter president, led the salute to the flags and the ritual. Mrs. T.C. Sinclair read a memorial to Jefferson Davis whose birthday was June 3. Mrs. Warner gave current events and showed certification of membership and papers of early members of the chapter. The Raeford chapter was organized in 1910. Mrs. J.H. Wright and Miss Lva Leach were welcomed as new members. Refreshments were served during the social hour. Mr. and Mrs. John Gollar and sons, Scott. Randy and Jeff, of Greensbo.o were here during the weekend for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Younger Snead. Jeff remained for a visit with his grandparents. Bridge Mrs. Lamonf All members were present last Thursday night for bridge club at the home of Mrs. William Lamont. She served a fruit and ice cream dessert with coffee when her guests arrived and iced drinks and nuts dunng progressions. Mrs. T.B. Lester won the high score prize. 227th AAA Holds Reunion The Annual Reunion of'the 229th AAA S/L Bn was held at the Raeford Moose Lodge June 3 and 4th with Mr. and Mrs. Odell Melton as hosts.
