Cousins To Make
Debut In September
Anna Hughes Jordan and Elizabeth
Faye Jordan are among 198 young
ladies who will be presented to North
Carolina society at the Raleigh
Terpsichorean Club's 47th Debutante
Ball to be held in September. The two
are students at Wake Forest University,
and already are receiving invitations to
numerous events on the Deb calendar.
Anna, a rising junior, is the daughter
of Dr. and Mrs. Julius F. Jordan. She's
spending the summer at home, helping
her Dad in his office, playing on the
Girl's softball team, swimming, sewing, ?
and getting excited about ttte-round of
festivities that will fill the weeks ahead.
She's accustomed to staying busy,
though, and it may take a bit of doing
to even find time for the deb-fun. At
Hoke High, she was a member of the
National Honor Society, the Fellowship
of Christian Athletes, French Club,
Ekoh Staff, Monogram Club, Pep Club,
Glee Club and Chorale, and Future

and art, and she works with the
Children's Choir at Firt Baptist Church.
Beth, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs.
Riley M. Jordan, is a rising sophomore
and is getting a double-dose , of
excitement in preparation for her debut
and for Iter coming semester of study in
France. She will be with a group from
Wake Forest studying at the University
of Dijon during the fall semester.
A Dean's List student, Beth also
maintains her interest in music. She goes
over to Salem for lessons in harp and
still finds time lor swimming and tennis.
This summer, she is a counselor at
Camp Mundo Vista in Asheboro, a role
for which she was well prepared through
years of leadership in scholastics and
extra-curricular activities at Hoke High.
She was a member of the Chorale for
three years, often serving as an
accompanist; member of the French
Club, F.T.A., Fellowship of Christian
Athletes, secretary of Student Council,
member of the Pep Club, a cheerleader -
chief, one year-and was Chief Marshal
for the 1971 commencement.
She attended the Governor's School
during the summer of 1971.
The parents of the two debutantes
are kept busy advising on wardrobe,
travel, and with planning the gala
luncheon they will give at the Country
Club of North Carolina in honor of their
daughters. Guests at the luncheon will
be debutantes and their mothers from
throughout the central part of the state.
