Area Incidents caused by a Saturday afternoon fire was estimated at between $200 and $300 by Raeford Fire Chief Crawford Thomas Jr. A neighbor with a fire extinguisher put out the fire in J.R. Kennedy's home at 812 E. Donaldson Ave. before firemen arrived. Thomas said something on the stove apparently caught fire and the stove, hood and kitchen cabinets were damaged. ' Saturday morning a passerby noticed a car parked near Upchurch School with a person sitting in it and a second person entering the building through a window. Authorities were notified and investigation found some items out of place inside the building. Missing items could not be listed pending inventory of building contents. Eight or ten hogs valued at $800 to $1,000 were reported missing from the Antioch Hog Farm the night of January 10. Also on January 10 someone forced open a vending machine at Pete's Exxon station North Main Extension, and took money aid drinks valued at $13. Other January incidents include a rifle reported missing January 4 from a Tarheel Hatchery truck; a 400 pound black angus heifer valued at $250, killed and removed from L.E. Bass' pasture January 3; a television set and $36 taken from home of Christine McPhatter, Rt. 1, Box 297, January 4; Cape Fear Valley hospital reported Sam Alexander Galberth of Raeford was a patient January 6. He was treated for a bullet wound in the right leg. Also on January 6 the mobile home of Lonnie McMillian. Rt. 3, was broken into and a washer and dryer valued at $325 were missing. January 8 it was reported 750 pounds of copper wire belonging to Lumber River Electric Membership Co-operative was cut from poles in Hoke County during the preceding weekend. On January 7 Raybon Sides reported old money, jewelry and a radio valued at $230 were taken from his Ashley Heights home. A tape player ? stereo and shotgun valued at $973 were reported taken from Addle Duck's Arabia home January 8. Also on January 8 the door of James W. Pitt man's Rt. 2 home was reported broken open and a rifle valued at S20 was missing. M. A. Maxwell, 318 N. Fulton, reported a rear door window broken out of his car at 12:10 p.m. Sunday. Investigating officers said the window was apparently shot with a BB gun. Visit Canceled WASHINGTON, D. Julian Evander Parks, Washington, convicted ofDUI third offense, received 18 months suspended 2 years upon condition he not drive for two years, and pay S500 fine amd costs. He was placed on two ? years probation. Edward Ingram, Southern Pines, convicted of DUl, received 90 days, suspended 12 months on condition he not drive for 12 months and pay $150 Tine and costs. John Ray Campbell, 213 Reaves St., was convicted of DUl. He received 90 days suspended 1 2 months on condition he not drive for 12 months and pay $150 fine and costs. The defendant gave notice of appeal and 5200 bond was continued. Leonard Ellis Johnson, Fayetteville. was convicted of DUl. He received 90 days suspended 1 2 months on condition he not drive for 12 months except as granted in limited driving privileges and pay 5150 and costs. Carson Dockery Jones, Rt. 3. convicted of DUl, received 90 days suspended 12 months upon condition he not drive for 12 months ahd pay 5150 fine and costs. He was granted limited driving privileges. The state took nol pros on a companion charge of failure to yield. James Archie Douglas. Maxton. was convicted of driving without a valid license, speeding, and a registration violation. He received 60 days suspended upon payment of 550 fine and costs. Harry Lee Thornberg. Rt. 3, was convicted of speeding and received 30 days, suspended upon payment of S35 fine and costs. Johnnie Ceasar Everett, alias John Cecil Everett, Rt. 1, was convicted of speeding and carrying a concealed weapon. He received two 30 ? day sentences suspended upon payment of SI 5 fine and costs. Bruce Woodrow Felment, Ft. Bragg, was convicted of speeding. Prayer for judgment was continued on payment of costs. Lucille Hayes Currin, Laurinburg, was convicted of speeding. Prayer for judgment was continued upon payment of cost. James F. McNair, Rt. 3. convicted of trespassing, received six months suspended five years upon condition he not go upon Vivian Harris' property for live years and pay costs. He was found innocent of injury to personal property charges. Tommy Richardson, Raeford Hole), was convicted of simple assault and received 30 days. Garry M. Lomax, Rt. I, was found innocent of attempted assault. Samuel Lomax, the prosecuting witness, was assessed costs. Henry Grace, Raeford, was found innocent of assault. Lord Grace, the prosecuting witness was assessed costs. Walter Carthens. Antioch, was found innocent of assault and battery. The prosecuting witness, W.E. Everleigh, was assessed costs. John T. Baker, Rt. 2, was found innocent of assault on a female. Suzanne Baker, the prosecuting witness was assessed costs. Rosella Brewer Locklear, Rt. 3, was found innocent of assault. The prosecuting witness, Freddie Revels, Sr. was ordered jailed until costs are paid. Freddie Revels Sr., Rt. 3, was found innocent of simple assault, assault with a deadly weapon and trespassing. Rosella Locklear, the prosecuting witness, was ordered jailed until costs are paid. Ed Hollingsworth, Station 1, Raeford, was found innocent of assault and battery. Larry Bratcher, Rt. I, was convicted of driving with faulty equipment. He received 30 days suspended upon payment of $10 fine and costs. Nathaniel Allen Leslie, Rt. 3, was convicted of careless' and reckless driving. He received 30 days suspended upon payment of S25 fine and costs. John Thomas Warren, Rt. 2, was convicted of an inspection violation and assessed costs. Kenneth Victor Thomas, Pope Air Force Base, was convicted of failure to burn motorcycle headlamps and was assessed costs.
