Two Waive Preliminary Hearings Two Raeford men waived preliminary hearings in district court Friday and were bound over to Hoke County superior court for grand jury action. Jessie Charles Jenkins, 19, Rt. 1, is charged with four counts of breaking, entering and larceny in connection with the December 28 breakin at Upchurch Junior High School, the January 12 breakin at Upchurch Junior High School, the January S breakin at Raeford apartment owned by Clemmie Miller and the February IS breakin at Huffman Grocery and Service Station on N.C. 211. Jenkins is currently being held in lieu of SI,2S0 bond on each count, a total of $5,000 in bonds. Larry McNeill, 23, Rt. 1, also awaiting grand jury action, is charged with breaking, entering and larceny and receiving stolen goods in connection with the December 28 breakin at Upchurch School and larceny in connection with the January 15, breakin at Kenneth Frederick, Jr.'s. He is being held in liue of SI ,500 bond. James Dorsey Morrisey, Raeford, convicted of driving without a license and DUI, received four months suspended 12 months, upon payment of $175 fine and costs. He was placed on 12-monlhs probation. Albert McAllister, Wagram, convicted of DUI and speeding, received six months suspended three and one-half years upon surrender of his license for three years and payment of $500 fine and costs. He was placed on three and one-half years probation. Ivory Henderson, - Antioch Community, convicted of assaulting a female, prayer for judgement was continued for three years upon payment of costs. Paul David Grosekoph, 314 Crawford St., was found innocent of assaulting a female. The court found frivilous and malicious prosecution on the part of Gloria Grosekoph and assessed her costs. Marcel McNeill, Rt. 1, convicted on two counts of misdemeanor larceny, received three years, suspended three and one-half years upon payment of $228 restitution and costs. He was placed on three and one-half years probation. Gracie Lee Maynor, Rt. 1, convicted of larceny, received six months suspended two yean upon condition she violate no laws for two years and pay S100 restitution and cost. Gerald Buie, Duffle Community, convicted of assault by pointing a gun, received six months suspended two years upon condition he violate no laws for two years and pay $50 fine and costs. Dwight Green, Rt. 2, was found innocent of assault with a deadly weapon. The court found frivilous and malicious prosecution on the part of Roosevelt Campbell and assessed him costs. Calvin Headen, 514 Grant Avenue, convicted of non-support, received 90 days suspended five years upon payment of $20 a week child support and costs. Robert Oxendine, Rt. 1, convicted of simple assault and non-support received six months suspended three and one-half years upon payment of $120 child support every two weeks and costs. For good cause shown, cost was remitted. He was placed on three and one-half years probation. A.G. Walters, Main Street, convicted on two counts of issuing worthless checks to J.T. Davenport Jr. of Sanford. Walters was assessed SI,212.54 restitution and costs. John McLean, Raeford, convicted of issuing, a worthless check, received 30 days suspended upon payment of SI0.99 restitution and costs. Dan Bethea, Rt. 2, convicted of issuing a worthless check, received 30 days suspended upon payment of S36.90 restitution and costs. Nancy Christian, Rt. 2, was convicted of issuing a worthless check. Prayer for judgment was continued upon payment of $73.81 restitution and costs. James Duncan McNeill, Aberdeen, convicted of an inspection violation was assessed costs. The State took nol pros in cases charging George Edward Long, 315 Crawford St., with assault on a female; Ledbetler Jacobs Jr., Antioch Community with issuing a worthless check; Eugene Campbell, Edinbourough Avenue, with public intoxication; Lec Albert Jones, Rt. 3 with careless driving; Harry Nelson McNeil, Antioch Community with nonsupport; and Bernece McCall, Ft. Kicklighter of Raeford. A prospective music major at. Meredith, Miss Kicklighter, a senior at Hoke County High School, was invited to participate in the scholarship program which recognizes excellence and ability in music. Miss Kicklighter was chosen on the basis of an initial competitive audition. She and eight other finalists returned to Meredith for a second audition and interview with the Meredith music faculty March 16.
