Two Fayetteville attorneys are vying for Judge Seavy Carroll's seat and four people are bidding for the new fifth seat created by the 1974 General Assembly. No Republicans filed. WILLIAM S. GFIMER (Carroll's Seat) Geimer. 33, is a member of the law firm of Smith and Geimer. From 1970 to 1972 he served as public defender. He received his J.D. degree with honors from UNC Law School and served as a major with the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg. GEORGESTUHL (Carroll's Seat) Stuhl, former chief district court prosecutor, was appointed district court judge to fill unexpired term of Coy E. Brewer who was elevated to superior court. Stuhl lost his 1972 re-election bid. He graduated from Duke University and Wake Forest Law School. ONNIEW. ALFORD (Fifth Seat) Mrs. Onnie Whithead Alford, 25, is a political newcomer. Mrs. Alford is a receptionist, bookkeeper and title clerk at an automobftdvagency 'miinSiged b her husband on Bragg Boulevard in Fayetteville. ALLEN (Fifth Seat) The past district court solicitor and former acting chief solicitor taught in public schools in Cumberland and Harnett Counties and at Fayetteville State University. She holds law, music, education, psychology and nursing degrees. She ran unsuccessfully for a House seat in 1972. JOE B. CHANDLER JR. (Fifth Seat) Joe B. Chandler Jr. served as assistant solicitor in 1969 and 1970. He has been in private law practice since that time. Chandler received his law degree at Wake Forest Law School in 1967 and passed the bar in 1969. He also holds a B.A. in philosophy.
