Harrells Honored On 25th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Harrcll of .112
W. Fdinborough Ave., were honored on
their 25th wedding anniversary at a
dinner party at the Holiday Inn in
Southern Pines at 7:00 p.m.. Friday,
January- 3. The Harrell's children,
Robert Jr. and Lynne, were hosts for
the occasion.
Guests were greeted by the hosts and
the honored couple. Mrs. William Gill
presided at the guest register.
Mrs. Kenneth Douglas poured punch
and Mrs. Fdnea ('ore served the
three-tiered anniversary cake. The
refreshment table was centered with a
silver candelabrum holding ?* white
candles, pink rosebuds, white carnations
and snapdragons. A pink and white
color note was used in all decorations.
Mrs. Sara Warren displayed gifts for
the honorees and goodbyes were said by
Mr. and Mrs. John T. Haire.
Special guests included Mrs. Harrell's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Tutor, and
her sisters. Mrs. Kenneth Douglas and
Mrs. Sara Warren, all of Orlando, Fla.

Susan Diane Miller, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. James O. Miller, celebrated her
seventh birtltjday with a party at her
home Saturday afternoon, December

After an hour of lun and games,
guests were served birthday cake, ice
cream cones, potato chips and Cokes.

Sunday night, Decembei 2(>, Michael
Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. James O.
Miller, had a party to celebrate his 12th
birthday.
Cokes, chips, birthday cake and ice
cream cones were served.

Miss Cathy Newlun, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Kdwin B. Newton of Puppy

birthday with a dinner dance held
Saturday night at the Southern Pines
Holiday Inn.
Following the steak supper, the IX
guests were served birthday cake while
the band played "Happy Birthday".
Miss Newton returned to her classes
at Fast Carolina University on Sunday

The Rev. and Mrs. Lewis Jolly of
Raeford. announce the engagement of
their daughter. Martha Sue. to Joseph
Paul Tart, son of Mrs. J.B. Tart ol Dunn
and lite late Mr. Tart. The wedding will
take place March 22. at the Second
Baptist Church where Miss Jolly's father
is pastor.

Purcell-Casey Vows Spoken
The wedding of Miss Dorothy Mae
Casey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll
J. Casey of Mexico. Maine, and Archie
Thomas Pureed, son of Mr. and Mis.
Thomas H. Puicell Jr. of Raleigh, took
place at 7:U() p.m.. Decembei 24>, at St.
Theresa's Catholic Church. Mexico,
Maine. A reception and dinner were
given by the bride's parents after the
wedding ceremony.
Given in marriage by her lather, the
bride was attended by her sisters. Misses
Ann and Debbie Casey.
. The bridegroom's lather served as
best man and ushers were Tommy
Barnes of Raleigh and Victor Cocowitch
of Dm ham.
After a wedding trip to Viiginia. the
couple will reside in Chapel Mill where
the bridegroom is a student at the
University of North Carolina. The bride
attended Trinity College in Hartford.

Stevens, the bridegroom's aunt, of
Raeloid, attended the wedding.

Boll Lynn Holt of Raeford was
among 75 seniors who received the A.B.
degree from Pleiffer College at the
college's I ') 7 4 Christmas
Commencement.
Diplomas were awarded by Pleiffer
President Douglas Retd Sasser in a
ceremony held in the Pleiffer Chapel.
Holt, a psychology major, is the son
of Mi. and Mrs. Waller Holt. Forrest
Street. He is married to the former
Betty Brooks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Clayton WI. Brooks of Laurinburg. He is
a graduate of Hoke High School and
attended Sandhills Community College
before transferring to Pleiffer.
