Johnson and'his niede, Mrs. Mary Amanda Hayes of Miles City, Mont., who were visiting relatives here over the weekend, left Monday by cai to first visit Mrs. Nancy Barnes in South Carolina and then go on to Rcdington Beach. Fla . where they will visit Mrs. Flora Lee and Mrs Margaret Foard. Mrs. Hayes will return to Miles City. Mont., and go from there to California. Kirk Parker of Wayside had a little surgery on his mouth on Thursday of last week and remained in the hospital two or three days, but he is at home now and doing very well. , At last account D.B. Ray. brother of Mrs. k.P Ritier. who had surgery at Mooie Memoual Hospital on Thursday of last week, was improving. Mr and Mrs Dan Mclnnis of Raeford were dinner guests of Thomas Mclnnis and his mother.Sunday. The news has just come that Mrs. l.ula Rackley of Fayettevillc accidentally fell and broke her hip. She is a sister of lloke McPhail and they are former residents of Rockfish community. Mrs. Hugh Overton, who had been seriously ill at hei home last week, was some better the lust of this week. Mrs Janie Graham ot Bricklanding Beach visited Mr. and Mis. J.W. Caddell of Racfotd last Tuesday and took them home with hei to spend the night and pan of the day Wednesday and brought them home Wednesday p.m. Comment We love the verse of the song that goes something like this: "This is my Father's world, O let me ne'er forget that tho the wrong seems olt so strong. God is the ruler yet". And let us not forget that we have the chance to choose ihe right side and be blessed or the wrong side and be punished. COG To Meet In Lumberton The Lumber Rive/ Council of Government executive committee will meet at 7:30 tonight in l umberton. Hoke County delegates are Ralph Bamhart, representing ihe county and Graham Clark from Raelord. Included on the agenda are additional appointments to the manpower council and consideration of means to Increase communications between the COG and local governments. The COG made public its treasurer's report for July ? December, showing expenses of S20l>, 1X7.42. Deposits were listed as S230.223.2H. expenditures included S56.024.3I foi salaries and S4.II0.7H for travel. Program expenses weie SHO.OO'OT and S45.666.76 for the caterer for the hot lunch program.
