Busy
Sheriffs deputies are investigating
several reported break-ins in the past
week.
HP. Walters, Rt. 3, complained his
home was entered sometime during the
day on March II and a .12 gauge,
single-barrel shotgun valued at $49
stolen. Coins and old currency worth
SI00 are also listed as stolen. Entry was
apparently made by kicking in a door,
the report stated.
Roger Taylor, Rt. 4, Box 234,
reported his home was burglarized
sometime between March 10-13 and a
gun, stereo receiver, .12 gauge
single-shot shotgun, and SO record
albums taken. The loss is listed at $685.
Entry was made by breaking the glass in
a rear door, according to the report.
Karl Paige of Palmer Trader Park,
complained his home was entered
sometime Saturday night or Sunday
morning and a vacuum cleaner worth
$483.31 was removed. Entry was
apparently made through a partially
opened window on the door of the
trader, according to the report.
B.R. Barbour, Rt. 2, reported to
deputies shots were fired at his truck
and trader, causng about $100 in
damage about 10:45 p.m. on March 12.
Barbour reported seeing a vehicle
leaving the scene.
Viola M. Bridges, Rt. 3, complained
the license plate was stolen from her car
March 11.
City police spotted a break-in early
Tuesday morning at Clark's Gulf on
401-B. The glass in a door had been
broken, and the thief reached in and
unlocked the door, Chief Leonard
Wiggins said. About $8 in cash was
taken from die register.
Bicyclist Hurt
Police report a 14-year-old Raeford
youth was injured early Monday evening
in a bicycle-car collision on St. Pauls
Drive.
Police Chief Leonard Wiggins said
Reco Machell Bratcher was injured
about 6:45 p.m. when his bike
apparently veered into the side of a car
attempting to pass.
According to the driver, Mark Henry
Berube. 20. Gen. Del.. Parkton. and an
unidentified passenger with Berube, the
bicycle struck the side of the auto after
it swerved to the left. Wiggins said.
Bratcher was transported to Cape
Fear Valley Hospital with a broken leg
and undetermined head injuries, the
Chief said. Bratcher was not admitted.
No charges have been filed at the
present time, Wiggins said.
