Store Puts Ceiling On Prices The Family Dollar store in Raeford has announced a change in its pricing policy which is good news for inflation weary buyers. Manager Betty Harris reported every item in the store will well for SSor less. The store specializes in clothing and shoes for the family and items for the home and yard. "We're cracking down in our buying practices," Miss Harris said. "We're insisting merchandise be made available to us at reasonable prices, or we just won't buy." The 208-storc also announced it has opened a new warehousing and distribution center, and the increased efficiency has made further price reductions potaibie. Don Williamson shot a 155 to win the Booster Club golf tournament at Arabia Golf Club last Saturday and Sunday. C.D. Bounds was runner-up with a 156. Despite the rain all last week and rain again on Sunday, the tourney drew 89 participants. Jerry Tucker won the first flight with Gene Carter taking second. The second flight was won by Calvin Howell with runner-up Richard Morgan. Johnny Knowles took the thiid flight, followed by Jim Fisher. The fourth flight was won by Bob Townsend, with Riley Jordan the runner-up. Webb's Splits With Oakwood Oakwood Laundry and Webb's Tire battled Thursday evening at LaFayette Lanes, and when it was over Webb's won two and a half games while Oakwood won one and a half. Marks* took four games from WSHB, McNeil's picked up four wins from Raeford Auto, Hollingsworth won four games from B.C. Moore's and the City of Raeford blanked Kermit's four games. The high 200 went tp Alex Kelly for McNeil's with 225, the high series went to Mackie Carter for Oakwood with 615. Mackie had a 211, 204, 200. Others hitting the 200 mark included Leon Burton for McNeil's, 222; Jimmy Baxley for Raeford Auto, 219; Ray Bullard for Webb's, 219; Billy Posey for Marks', 217; Bill Hendrix for Marks', 215; James Nixon for Webb's 205; Charlie Smith for the City of Raeford, 203; Wayne Sealy for Oakwood. 202; Jesse Taylor for Marks' 200; Bob Canady for Oakwood, 200 and 211. James L. Jolly, pastor of Carolina Baptist Church in St. Pauls and Five Forks in Lumberton. The revival will continue through March 28, with services nightly at 7 p.m., the Rev. Lewis Jolly, pastor of Second Baptist, said. There will be special music for each service.
