The Mission in Action Group met Monday night at the home of Rev. & Mrs. Carl Strickland. The Deacons of Pittman Grove Church met Monday night at the church and the WMU also met at 7 o'clock Monday night, at the church. Club Meets Rockfish Homethakers dub met at the Community House on Wednesday, May 23, with very good attendance of club members and a few visitors; among them were Mrs. W.G. Wright, Mrs. irvin Beasley, Mrs. Buddy Wright and Mrs. Robert Turner and Mrs. Emily Phillips and Ann Melton. This was a luncheon meeting to raise money for the club's scholarship fund. The seventy-five dollar scholarship was presented to Ann Melton, who plans to enter Gardner-Webb College this fall. The luncheon was very good and all seemed to enjoy it. Then the president announced that we would not have time for the usual program, and the next meeting would be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Barnes. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Terry left for Fort Lauderdale, Fla., last Wednesday. They are planning to get their furniture from Fort Lauderdale and when that is done, they will be here to stay. Mrs. Terry has sent in her subscription for The News Journal for one year and that also shows they are planning to be here for a long time. Gas Earnings Up Earnings of $1.50 per share for the twelve months ended March 31 have been reported to stockholders of North Carolina Natural Gas Corporation. This compares with $ 1.40 per share reported for the same period last year. Revenues for the twelve months were S34.247.406 compared to $32,879,621 for last year.
