Lumbee Marval went down in defeat Tuesday night, beaten 7-2 by Gentry's. The other game on tap, SPCA and McCain, was rained out. Wednesday night, Virgil's beat Carolina Turf 5-2, Kennerty's crushed McCain 16-6, and Hoke Concrete dealt a loss to SPCA, 8-3. Webb's Takes Top Honors By Larry Long This week concludes the Raeford Merchant Bowling season. It's been a good year for most of the teams. Webb's Tire took first place honors this year, but there remains a batde for the second and third spots in the standing. In the action last week the City of Raeford got four wins because Raeford Auto did not have enough bowlers. Oakwood won four games from Moore's. McNeil's took three games from Webb's. The Barbers dumped WSHB three games to one. Marks' got four wins from Hermit's. The high 200 last week went to Games Re-Set Rained out games in the men's slow pitch Softball league were rescheduled for Wednesday and Friday nights. A game between McCain and SPC'A that was canceled May 7 was rescheduled for May 14 at 9 p.m. Other games set for last night were to be moved ahead thirty minutes, so that Virgils would play McCain at 7 p.m. and Lumbee Marval would meet Kennerty's at 8. Games rained out on May 1 will be played Friday night. Lumbee Marval wdl meet SPCA tomorrow at 7; Hoke Concrete will play Gentry's Tire at 8 and McCain will play Carolina Turf at 9 p.m. George McKoy for the Barbers with a 225, a 201, and the high series, a 612.
