Hoke allowed four unearned runs with trouble coming in the first inning. Allen Thomas ran into problems immediately by walking the first batter. Tommy Candle. Jerry Royster then singled down the middle before Thomas collected his first strike out. But the trouble continued, as Thomas walked Doug Satterwhite and Ron Evans to bring the first Oxford Webb run across the plate. David McNeill relieved Thomas on the mound, but couldn't stop the Oxford Webb assault: Terry Barnes singled, driving in two more runs before a double play ended the inning. In the fourth inning, Oxford Webb collected another run as Carl Webb singled and came home on two sacrifices. Hoke collected its first run in the fifth inning as Timmy Ross singled and then stole second. A sacrifice by Eddie Ramsey moved Ross to third where he scored on a passed ball. Two more runs were collected by Oxford Webb in the sixth inning as Satterwhite got on base on a fielder's choice and Candle singled. They both scored on an error by Hoke's third baseman. Frank Kicklighter. The Bucks' final run came in the seventh as Curtis Jones walked, dien scored on singles by Ross and Ramsev. Noah Hendrix caught for Hoke while Oxford Webb's winning team was the twin brother combination of Doug and Dave Satterwhite.
