They feel it can be open to traffic by July 1. which is much sooner than any of us had dared hope. And since it is a steel bridge that is lying unused in an Army depot in Ohio, the cost is not going to be excessive. In fact, the state feels it is getting a bargain and the Army feels that it will be a good training exercise for the men who will be involved And this all started with a letter from a single citizen who felt he had a right to ask help from his government. Of course, all problems don't work out as well as that of Mr. Atkinson and his fellow citizens in the Surry-Yadkin county area. But the fact that a single letter is going to relieve the hardships and inconvenience of hundreds of people rftould make us realize government can still be made to work. Library Neivs Story Hours Change Doesn't seem possible but it's true, school is about to close for the summer. So the library staff is looking forward to all our school children dropping by for a book to read now and then during vacation. Our story hours are planning a short vacation. All four story hours will meet as scheduled on June 3rd and June 10th. Then our Story Hours will be discontinued so our children may go to Bible School or on vacations. July 1st will be the first summer story hour. That is the day the Hoke County Library will become a part of the Sandhill Regional Library. We are hoping that the Children's Librarian, Miss Linda Brown, will be with us that day. More details will be given concerning our summer programs soon, so be looking for posters, listening to the radio and also watching The News-Journal for more news about our summer Reading Programs. A lot of NEW is coming for Hoke County Library. He embezzles $10,000 from his employer and with the money buys speculative stock in an oil producing corporation. Within two years the oil stock, registered in Allen's name, becomes worth $180,000. The National Manufacturing Company has just discovered the embezzlement and what Allen has done with the money. What legal remedy does it have? The National Manufacturing Company may by a legal proceeding have the $180,000 worth of oil stock transferred to its name. A wrongdoer is not permitted to profit from an illegal act. The oil stock is in effect the substituted product of the $10,000 that was stolen from the National Manufacturing Company. It can reach the property acquired with its money, and thus secure the profit which resulted from the favorable rise in the value of the oil stock. Allen may, of course, be arrested and sent to prison on the criminal charge of embezzlement. Jones embezzles $10,000 from Smith, and uses the money to make improvements upon real property which Jones owns. What remedy does Smith have? Smith is entitled to an equitable lien on the real property to the extent of the misappropriated funds. White requests Black to keep $100 for him.
