July 4 Plans
Preparations are underway for
Aberdeen's eleventh annual July
Fourth Celebration.
Democrat and Republican leaders
from the State and National
governments are being invited.
Hollerin' Champions from Spivey's
Corner are also being invited.
Entries have been received for the
parade which will start at 10:30 ajn.
with the formal speaking program at
11:30 a.m.
Special events including bands and
singing under the direction of Brady
Jones will be on the program.
A beauty pageant sponsored by
the Aberdeen Jaycees followed by
fireworks over the Aberdeen Lake
will bring the celebration to a close
at 9:30 that evening.
H. Clifton Blue is general chairman
of the event. Frank A. McNeill is
parade chairman; Hugh M. Styers,
food and drink chairman; and Oliver
Canaday, special events.
