McArthur - Lovin Wedding
Held Saturday In Red Springs
Miss Cynthia Kathryn Lovin,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archibald
King Lovin of Red Springs, and First
Lieutenant William Surlcs McArthur,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Cox
Avant of Wakulla and the late
General William McArthur, were
united in marriage on Saturday
evening. June 21.
The Rev. Joseph McCutchen
officiated at the eight o'clock
ceremony in the Red Springs
Presbyterian Church. Music was
presented by Mrs. Lewis McNeill of
St. Pauls, organist, and Mrs. Neill
Adams McNeill of Raeford, soloist.
Mr. I t>vin gave his daughter in
marriage. She wore a traditional
wedding gown of white organza over
taffeta. The long fitted sleeves, high
or neck, and bodice were enhanced with
pearl ?embroidered Alcncon lace
appliques I he detachable chapel
train was trimmed with matching
lace. Her short veil of white illusion
' was caught to a band of the lace, also
peail embroidered. Her bouquet was
of miniature white summer roses,
stcphanotis, and gypsophila. Her
only ornament was an heirloom
brooch, worn by her great ?
grandmother on her wedding day.
Mrs. William Daniel Lovin of
Chapel Hill sdivcd her sister - in - law
as matron of honor. Maid of honor
was Miss Leslie Randolph Bass of
Chattanooga. Tcnn. Their floor ?
length gowns were fashioned of aqua
cotton voile with cummerbunds of
white Cluny lace, tounded necklines
with wide collars, and full skirts.
They carried casual French country
nosegays of mixed small blossoms
featunng yellow and white daisies
and gypsophila. They wore miniature
clusters of daisies and gypsophila in
their hair.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. William
Crawford I'ownsend, Jr. of
Wide field,, Colorado, sister of the
bridcgioom: Mrs. James Kenneth
Home of Wakulla, cousin of the

Mrs. William Surles McArthur
The bride is a 1975 graduate,
magna cum laude. of Salem College.
She was secretary of Student
Government, and chairman of the
Honor Council. Lt. McArthur was
designated a 1973 Distinguished
Graduate of the United States
Military Academy at West Point. He
received the Class of 1926 award, the
brig. Gen. Tallman Memorial award,
and the Armor Saber. He is with the
82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg.

Mrs. Lula Woolston of Bossier City,
La. has announced tire engagement
of her daughter. Finnta Mac Enlow,
to James Donald McKenzie, son of
Mrs. J.K. McKenzie of Route I,
Lumber Bridge, and the late Mr.
McKenzie. The wedding will take
place July II. at 6:00 p.m. in the
First Christian Church of Bossier
City.
Mr. McKenzie was graduated from
Parkton High School and Robeson
Technical Institute, and is an Air
Force veteran of Viet Nam War. He is
the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. L.M.
Chason of Lumber Bridge and the
late Mr and Mrs. Jim McKenzie of
Lumber Bridge.
After a wedding tip to Nassau, the
couple will be at home at the
Cambridge Arms Apartments,
McPherson Church Road,
Fayetleville

Mrs. George J. Lovett and Mrs.
David G. Sease entertained with a
bridal tea Saturday afternoon at the
Lovett home honoring Miss Jane
Hart, August bride-elect of Edward
Robinson.
Arrangements of mixed spring
flowers were used in the living room
and dining room.
Party sandwiches, cheese daisies,
chicken salad shells, petits fours,
nuts, mints and punch were served.
Miss Hart received a gift of pewter
in her chosen pattern.
BRIDGE
Mrs Niven
Mrs. Berder Niven was bridge club
hostess last Thursday evening at her
home on Central Ave. She served
lemon chess pie and coffee when
guests arrived and lemonade, nuts
and chips during progressions.
Guests to the club were Mrs.
Harold Gillis. Mrs. David Scott Currie
and Mrs. Bill Niven.
Mrs. June Johnson won the club
prize and Mrs. Currie was the winner
of the guest price. Bingo winners
were Mrs. Walter Coley and Mrs.
Bennie Kelly.

bride-elect of Donald McKenzie, was
honored with a floating shower
Thursday night at the Sandy Grove
Hut, given by Mrs. Larry Long.
The refreshment table was covered
with a white lace cloth over blue
linen and was centered with mixed
flowers and silver candles. The
hostess served bridal cakes decorated
with wedding bells and wedding
rings, nuts, mints and fruit punch.
Miss Enlow was presented a
corsage of white carnations; Mrs.
McKenzie, mother of the prospective
bridgroom, received a corsage of blue
carnations; and Mrs. L.M. Chason,
the grandmother of the bridegroom -
to-be, was given a corsage of pink
carnations.
Barrier - Hunt
Given in marriage by her uncle,
F.M. Bain Jr., Miss Marilyn Aive
Hunt of Greensboro, and Don Barrier
of Greenville, S.C., were married
Saturday in the Presbyterian Church
of the Covenant, Greensboro.
The bride is the granddaughter of
Mrs. F.M. Bain of Raeford.
