was named to the dean's list for the
spring semester.
Peele is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
M.V. Peele of Raeford.
Tower Flag
City hall received an inquiry from
an Indiana Firm last week asking
information about the American flag
painted on the city water towers.
"We were through your town and
noticed the flag on the water tower.
We would like to know the name of
the firm who painted it," wrote D.
Bailey, Greenfield Safety Products
Co. manager.
The inquiry was a sad footnote to
the Jan. 21 tragedy at the Dickson
Street tower when 51 year-old
Warren H. Lee fell to his death while
finishing the painting.
Lee was an owner of Osborne and
Lee Institutional Painting,
Brooklawn, N.J.
DONATION-Kay Thomas, Raeford IVomarft Club president, hands over a
check for $600 to R.B. Lewis, treasurer of the Bicentennial Library building
fund. The check represented the proceeds of the club's April auction, and the
donation brings the total contributed by the RWC to the fund to $3,000.

Revival services will begin at
Ephesus Baptist Church June 30
through July 6 each evening at 7:30.
The Rev. Willard Singletary will be
the speaker. The public is cordially
invited to attend. Vacation Bible
School closed on Friday night with a
good attendance and good
fellowship. A program was given on
Sunday night.
The Rev. Jake Gurley, retired
pastor of Ephesus Baptist Church on
Sunday, visited his sons Mark and
Joe Gurley and families in Pittsboro,
Mrs. Kathleen Goldstein of Chapel
Hill.
A/C Emma Mae Enlow fiance of
A/C James Donald McKenzie was
honored with a bridal shower at the
Sandy Grove Hut Thursday night
with Hostess Mrs. Janice Long. A/C
Enlow received many nice gifts.
Mrs. Annie Bell Adcox of
Fayetteville spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davis. Mr. and
Mrs. Davis spent Sunday pan. at
White Lake.
Mrs. Edgar McGougan and Mrs.
Buck Beasley were hostesses for a
house warming for Mr. and Mrs. R.C.
Bostic, who recently moved into
their new home, Saturday night.

spending several days with Mrs.

Fayetteville is spending several days
