The Lions Club named their 'Lion
of the Year' and installed new
officers Friday during Ladies Night
dinner in Southern Pines.
Clyde Knox was picked Lion of
the Year. Knox was also re - installed
as secretary.
Dick Lovette is the new president.
Sandy Thompson is first vice
president.
Dale Ormsby presided over the
installation ceremonies.
Ashwell Harward received a
21-year perfect attendance pin. He
also honored for securing 25 eye
wills this year.
Shuford Pennell received a 20-year
perfect attendance pin.
Guest speaker was state insurance
commissioner John Ingram, who
praised passage of the bill outlawing
age discrimination in automobile
insurance rates in his talk.
