To Be Married
Mr. and Mrs Willie Sanders announce
the approaching marriage of their
daughter, Helen Jean, to Joe
Lawrence McCotlum, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Lawrence McCotlum of
Raeford. The wedding is planned for
Sunday, July 27, 'at 5:00 p.m., at
Silver Grove Missionary Baptist
Church, with the Rev. W.k. Mitchell
officiating. A reception will follow at
the Evans Recreation Center.
The bride-elect is a 1972 graduate of
Hoke County High School and
completed a course in cosmetology
at the Beaux Arts Institute of
Cosmetology in Fayetteville. She is
employed at Burlington Industries
Her fiance, also a 1972 graduate of
Hoke County High School, attended
Fayetteville Technical Institute and
graduated as an electrician. He is
employed at Tex-Elastic Corp.

Anniversary
Mr it Mrs. John Ella Martin
Mr. and Mrs. John Elza Martin of
Lumberton, formerly of Raeford,
were honored with a reception
Sunday afternoon at their home on
the occasion of their 50th wedding
anniversary.
Among the 11 Martin children is
Mrs. Bobby Lee Campbell of
Raeford. There are 32 grandchildren
and 16 great grandchildren.

Julie are expected home today from
a visit with friends and relatives in
Axtell and Holdrege, Neb.

Friday of last week at Myrtle Beach.

Mr. and Mrs. CP. Kinlaw have
returned from a visit with his
daughter and family, Dr. and Mrs.
Paul Simmons and cltildren, in
Louisville, Ky.
Mr. and Mrs. Lamon Bruner spent
last weekend in Virginia with Mr. and
Mrs. Ben Bruner, Luke and Lisa.
They went especially to bring home
their son Jerry who had been visiting.
They also attended the christening of
their granddaughter Lisa Nolting
Bruner at St. John's Chapel, Louisa
County, Diosese, Va., on Sunday
with Rev. Edwin T. Williams
presiding. Godparents are Jerry
Bruner, Lindsay Nolting, and Mrs.
A G. Shifflet. Miss Elizabeth Nolting
entertained at her home after the
service.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Morris returned
Monday night from a ten-day tour to
Canada.
Mrs. Steva Snead and sons, Trip and
Sam, visited relatives in Dallas,
Texas, for three weeks. Trip and Sam
returned yesterday from a visit at
Topsail Beach with their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Younger
Snead.
Mrs. A.C. Keith and Mrs. Kathleen
Blue Wilson attended the
Harris-Keith wedding Saturday in
Wadesboro.
Mrs. Ode 11 Aahbum and Mrs. Howard
J. Taylor left Tuesday for Hawaii
where they will spend a week visiting
Mrs. Ash bum's son and family, Mr.

Miss Krishna Faye McLean,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C.
McLean of Morehead City, and
Samuel Lee McLamb, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Bryan L. McLamb of Four
Oaks, were married Saturday
afternoon at 3:00 in the First Baptist
Church, Morehead City.
The bride attended by Mrs. Robert
L. McLean as matron of honor, and
by Mrs. Carol Willis of Newport, Miss
Carol McLean of Morehead City,
Miss Tina Warren of Candler, as
bridesmaids, and Miss Vonda Bass of
Dunn as flower girl.
The bridegroom's father was best
man and ushers were Robert L.
McLean and Lawrence Mattox of
Raleigh, and Gary McLamb of Four
Oaks.
The couple will be at home in
Fayetteville, Tenn.
The McLambs are former Raeford
residents.
Harris - Keith Wedding
Mrs. Thaddeus Manning Harris, Jr.
Miss Sarah Alice Keith and
Thaddeus Manning Harris Jr. were
married Saturday in the First
Presbyterian Church, Wadesboro.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Cameron Keith of
Wadesboro, and is the granddaughter
of Mrs. A.C. Keith of Raeford. She is
a graduate of the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill and is
employed by Pineville Elementary
School, Charlotte.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Thaddeus Manning Harris of
Statesville. He is a graduate of
Appalachian State University and

Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Daniels of
Raeford, announce the birth of a
son, Harrison Ray Jr., on June 25 at
Southeastern General Hospital in
Eumberton.
Mrs. Daniels is the former Kathy
Pridgen of Raeford.
Mr. and Mrs. T. Carson Davis have
returned from a vacation at Tantar
on Oaafi Lake in the Ozark
Mountains, Mo.
holds a Masters degree from A.S.U.
He is employed by Equitable Life
Insurance Co. of Charlotte.
After a wedding trip to
Williamsburg, Va., the couple will
live at 1331 Abbey Place, Charlotte.
BRIDGE
Mrs Upchurch
Bridge club members and one
visitor, Mrs. Gilbert Barnhardt, met
with Mrs. Lewis Upchurch on
Thursday night. Mrs. Upchurch
served dessert and iced tea when
guests arrived and nuts, chips and
Cokes during the evening.
Prizes went to Mrs. John Pecora
for high score, to Mrs. Wyatt
Upchurch for second high, and to
Mrs. Martin Webb for bingo.
