Masone- McCleskey Vows Miss Alice Elizabeth McCleskey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Samuel McCleskey of Winston-Salem, became the bride of Lt. Henry Patrick Masone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Romo Vaccarella of Massapequa, N.Y., in an eight o'clock ceremony Saturday night at Reynolda Presbyterian Church, Winston-Salem. Dr. Alton W. Greenlaw officiated. The bride is the gianddaughter of Mrs. Clyde E. Upchurch, Sr., of Raeford, and has many close relatives here. She wore the wedding gown worn by her mother, the former Elsie Upchurch. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attended by Mrs. David Wright of Charlotte as matron of honor and by Miss Beverly Lewis, maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Annette Lowery of Raleigh, Mrs. Richard Cpuch of Clcmson, S.C., Miss Candi tkulk of Richmond, Va., the bride's cousin, Miss Ann Hodges of Peoria, 111., Miss Ann Upchurch of Raeford, cousin of the bride, and Miss Lucy .Vaccarella of Massapequa, N.Y., the bridegroom's sister. Soloist was Mrs. Rodney Guthrie of El Paso, Texas, cousin of the bride, and the former Diane Upchurch of Raeford. Gary Vilam of Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y., served as best man. Ushers were David Wright of Charlotte, William Boyce of Thomasville. Ga., the bride's cousin, George Masone and Michael Vaccarella of Massapequa, N.Y., brothers of the bridegroom; and Lt. Howard Hill and Lt. Donald Kappel of Jacksonville, N.C. Following the ceremony the bride's parents entertained with a reception in the church fellowship hall. After a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will be at home in Jacksonville, N.C. The bride was graduated front Winthrop College. Rock Hill, S.C., with a B.S. degree in physical education, and taught physical education last year in Manassas, Va. Lt. Masone. a graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., with a B.S. degree in psychology, is serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Bullock returned home Saturday from a two week visit 'with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Foster Jr., in Tulsa. Okla. Miss Lydia Stokes of Wilmington, * and Miss Leslie Pur cell of Laurinburg, spent last week here with their grandmother, Mrs. Herbert McKeithan Sr. Mrs. Henry Patrick Masunc Bridal Tea Honors Mrs. Julian Johnson Mrs. Julian S. Johnson, Jr., Mrs. John Campbell, Mrs. Robert Wright and Mrs. Edgar M. Baker were hostesses for a bridal tea Wednesday afternoon of last week honoring Mrs. Julian Johnson III, a bride of June 28. Guests called at the Johnson home between 4 and 6. A special guest was the honoree's mother, Mrs. Charles Holland of Tarboro. The bride was attired in her wedding gown and Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Baker wore their bridesmaids dresses. Arrangements of yellow and white daisies were used throughout the home. The tea table, set outside on the patio, was centered with a silver basket filled with pink roses. Mrs. Julian Wright presided at the table where guests were served punch, bridal cakes, cheese biscuits, shrimp newberg in timbales, nuts and mints. Assisting in serving were Misses Mary O'Neal Wright of Winston-Salem. and Crystal and Julie Christopher of Raeford.
