Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Bundy spent several days the past weekend in the mountains, mostly in the region of Cherokee. Miss Nellie McFadyen and Miss Mary McFadyen visited their cousin Mis. Archie Simmons of Colorado, at the home of Mrs. Evelyn Davis of Raelord last Wednesday night. Mis. Nelia Brock is spending a few days this week with Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Long. Sunday evening guests of Mrs. I loyd Monroe were Mrs. M.D. Gillis, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Gillis. Mr. and Mrs. James McKeithan and son James Gillis. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gulledge. and Mr. and Mrs. Graham Monroe and Mrs. Lillian Wade. Last Saturday. Miss Mary Priest took Mrs. A.A. Mclnnis, Mrs. Floyd Monroe and Mrs. Odell Quick to Adcox Rest Home, to visit Mrs. Quick's brother William Culbreth. Mrs. James Livingston and any other of their friends they might find there. They had a very pleasant day and a safe trip there and back. Mr. and Mrs. Cronzie Edge of Favettevillc. Gibson Sunday. Mrs. Gibson spent Saturday night with her sister Mrs. W.IL Sdtell of I timber Bridge. Mr. and Mrs. M.S. Gibson and children. Joy and Ricky spent the weekend at the beach. Mr. and M rs. Allen Gibson Jr. of Jacksonville. Fla. stopped by for a visit with all Ins Gibson relatives, as they were enroute to Richmond, Va. the past weekend. Guests of Mrs. Keith Hawkes last Tuesday were John Mooncy of New York City. Mr. and Mrs. Tim Hawkes of Raelord. Mrs. Cecil Dyson of Albemarle. Mrs. Clara Harrison of Fort Lauderdale. Fla. Mrs. Kenneth Trost and children I ric. Kimberly Ann. Nancy and Paul 4 ol St. Pauls. Minn, have been visiting her parents. Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Wood since die first of July. They plan to go home Saturday. While here Mrs. Trost and children and Mrs. Buddy Dunn and Amey spent a few days at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Trost is the former Betty Jean Wood. Shirley and Sandra Allen of Charleston. S.C. spent the weekend with their mother. Mrs. Johnny Allen and sister Teresa. Mrs. Johnny Allen and daughter Teresa and Mrs. Maurice Prevatte and son Eddie spent from Monday to Thursday at Cherry Grove Beach last week. Mrs. R.V. Tanner and Mrs. Minnie Outlaw recently returned from 2 weeks visit in Haines, Fla. Mrs. R.H. Gibson and all the Gibson family attended the Culbreth Reunion at Cumberland County Wildlife Club last Sunday. Mrs. Harold Currie and son William Rex of Blue Springs were guests of Mrs. Mary Mclnnis for a short time Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hayes and children Larry and Joan Hayes of Bladenboro visited Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Emmons Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Bundy and children Judy and Ronnie were Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Bundy's only dinner guests last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bundy and Award Book Names Woman Rebecca Ann Howell of Raeford has been selected for the 1975 edition of Outstanding Young Women of America, the Outstanding Young Women of America Awards program announced. The awards program is directed by leaders of major women's clubs and organizations. Tennis Tournament By Pat Scott The Hoke recreation commission will host a tennis tournament August 4-7, beginning at 5 p.m. until six matches per night are completed. Two rounds will be going at the same time on courts number one and two. There will be men's singles and doubles and ladies singles play. Entry fees will be $2.50 per person for singles and S2 for doubles. Each participant will furnish a new can of balls. The tournament is a single elimination directed by Johnny Miller. Interested persons should contact either Miller or Pat Scott at Unchurch School children Carl and Dayne. and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bundy and children Michael and Lynne spent last week at Disney World, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Larry English and son Jay of FayettevUle visited his parents Mr. and Mrs. P.C. Englidi Sunday pjn. Mr. and Mrs. James E. Mclnnis of Fayetteville were dinner guests of Thomas Mclnnis and his mother Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Smith Mclnnis visited them Sunday evening. Franklin Martin of Wilmington and his father Furman Martin were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Koonce Sunday. Mrs. Aubrey Caddis and sons Tom and Danny are spending a few days this week at the beach. Mr. and Mrs. Stacy Hobson and Mrs. Jesse Black spent the past weekend witli Mr. and Mrs. O.V. Taylor of Moncks Corner, S.C. They went to attend the funeral of tire Taylor's grandson Keith Taylor who was drowned. Beatty has been appointed newest member of the Raeford police department, police chief Leonard Wiggins announced. Beatty, 30. is a native of Raeford and graduated from Upchurch High School. He was formerly employed by the House of Raeford. Beatty served in die Navy from 1969-71. He is married and die father of two chddren.
