While at East Carolina University,
Miss McNeill appeared as "Snow
White" in the Snow White Ballet;
danced a major role in "Dames at
Sea"; and performed in both the
dance and drama department
productions for several years. Before
leaving East Carolina, she was offered
a dance role in the outdoor drama
production of "Lost Colony" at
Manteo. Locally she completed a
dance role in the five week run of
Circa 75 production of "Oklahoma."
Miss McNeill, a native of Raeford,
plans to teach dance in Raeford and
with the Ann Clark Schools of Dance
in the Fayettcville studios. She will
teach classes during the school
months and continue her dance
studies in New York City in the
summers.
Anyone interested in these dance
classes may call 875-2630 in
Raeford, or come by the Raeford
Civic Center from 2 p.m. through 7
p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, to
register.
In the Fayettcville area, in
addition to teaching, Miss McNeill
will be performing with the Dance
Theatre of Fayetteville. She hopes
that eventually some of her own
proteges will be dancing major roles
with the company.
At the Raeford studio, in addition
to classes for children, there will be
special classes for adults in all aspects
of dance. This will be especially good
for young mothers to get back into
shape.
