bride of Richard Lewis Neeley in a

WeUesley Hills, Mass., and the
bridegroom is ihe son of Mr. and
Mrs Richard Everettc Neeley of
Dr. Ann Crumrine of St. Louis
Mo. was organist.
The bride, given in marriage by her
lather, was attended by her
roommate, Miss Jean Lundberg of
Urbana, as maid of honor, and by
Miss Susan Neeley, sister of the
bridegroom, as bridesmaid.
The bride wore a white formal
gown with bodice and sleeves of
Venetian lace and chiffon skirt which
extended into a short train. She wore
Juliet cap of matching lace with
cascading veil and carried a bouquet
o sweetheart roses and gypsophila.

handkerchief which was brought
, from Belgium by the bridegroom's
aunt.

trimmed with brown lace and carried

Master s degree from the University
Illinois and is presently doing
research work there for a Ph. D

The Sandhills Christian Women's

McPherson-Simmons Wedding
Miss Kathy Sue Simmons,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William
Roach Simmons Jr. of Route 2, Elon
College, and Thomas Richard
McPherson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas R. McPherson of Route I,
Blanch, were married at 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 9, at Concord
United Church of Christ, Route 2,
Elon College. The Rev. Martin
Fogleman and Dr. Ben Williams
performed the double ring ceremony.
The bridegroom is the grandson of
Mr. and Mrs. D.K. Parker of Route 4,
Raeford.
Wedding music was presented by
the organist. Miss Marie King of
Burlington, cousin of the bride.
The bride, escorted by her father
and given in marriage by her parents,
wore an empire gown of white
imported silk organza over peau de
soie, styled with Venice lace flowers
edging the portrait neckline and
forming cap sleeves, A-line skirt and
full chapel train appliqued and
bordered wilh lace, and a lace - edged
illuaon veil. She carried a nosegay of
white roses, daisies and gypsophila.
Mrs. Bobby Brewer of Yanceyville,
was her sister's matron of honor. She
wore an empire gown of yellow and
green floral organza with green velvet
ribbon trim and carried a nosegay of
yellow roses, daisies and gypsophila.
Bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth
McPherson of Blanch, sister of the
bridegroom; and Miss Lynne Tate of
Greensboro, cousin of the bride.
Their dresses and flowers were
identical to those of the honor
attendant.
Mr. McPherson was his son's best
man. Users were Davis McPherson of
Blanch, brother of the bridegroom;
Bobby Brewer of Yanceyville,
brother ? in - law of the bride;
William E. McPherson HI of Mebane,
the bridegroom's cousin; and John
Taylor of Greenville. S.C.
After a wedding trip to Charleston
and Isle of Palms. S.C., the couple
will reside in Raleigh.

Mrs. Luke McNeill was hostess to
her bridge club Tuesday eveing of
last week. She served a dessert course
with coffee before the game and
Cokes and nuts during play.
Mrs. Harold Stone of Falls Church,
Va., and Mrs. David Scott Currie
were visitors.
Club high score prize went to Mrs.
Carlton Niven and Mrs. Currie won
the visitor's prize.

Mrs. Varilell Hedgpeth Jr. and Mrs.
Joe Stanley gave a stork shower for
Mrs. Bill Cameron on Wednesday
evening of last week. About 35

at the Hedgpeth home.
Mixed summer flowers were used

guests were served punch, petits
fours, cheese biscuits, mints and
