Drunken Drivers, Traffic Cases Head Docket
After taking an extended recess
because of the Bicentennial
celebration Friday, Judge Joe Dupree
went through a lengthy docket
dominated by drunken driving cases
and other traffic offenses in District
Court.
Girlie Buck Covington, Charlotte,
pleaded guilty to speeding 70 in a 55
mph zone and DU1 and was
sentenced to 90 days, suspended on
condition that he not drive for 12
months except for limited driving
privileges and pay {ISO and costs.
His blood alcohol level was .13,
according to records.
Larry Kenneth Currie, of Rt. 2,
Laurinburg, entered a plea of guilty
to inspection violation and was
sentneced to 30 days suspended if
costs are paid.
Marshall Thomas Wilson, Rt. 1,
Raeford, pleaded guilty to assaulting
a female and judgment was
continued for three years and he was
fined costs.
Charlie Ransom Jr., of Robbins
Heights, Raeford, pleaded guilty to
assault by pointing a gun and was
sentenced to 90 days suspended for
two years on condition that he not
be convicted of assault for two years,
md pay $25 and costs.
David Roy Wallace, Rt. 3,
Raeford, pleaded guilty to failure to
surrender registration plate that had
been revoked and was sentenced to
30 days, suspended on condition that
he pay $25 and costs.
Wiilie E. Smith, Rt. 1, Raeford,
pleaded guilty to worthless check
and was sentenced to 30 days,
suspended on condition that he pay
$31.86 restitution to Charles Fields
and costs.
MitcheU O.Parker, Rt.4, Raeford,
was found not guilty of assault with
a deadly weapon and the prosecuting
witness was ordered to pay costs as
frivolous and malicious prosecution
was found.
Jimmie Jacobs, Rt. 1, Red Springs,
was found not guilty of assault with
a deadly weapon and the prosecuting
witness was fined costs as frivolous
and malicious prosecution was
found.
David Burton, of Raeford, pleaded
guilty to inadequate support and was
sentenced to 60 days, suspended for
three and one half years on condition
that he be placed on probation for
three and one half years, and pay
$100 and $30 every two weeks for
the support of the child.
Horace Albert McLean, Rt. 1,
Raeford, pleaded guilty to breaking
and entering and larceny, and was
sentenced to two years on the first
charge suspended for three and one
half years on condition that he
remain on probation for three and
one half years, pay $5 for the
prosecuting witness, and not
associate with Ervin Graham and Leo
McRae for the duration of the
probation period. He was taxed
costs. The court ordered the larceny
charge continued for five years.
Leo McRae. Rt. 1, Raeford,
pleaded guilty to breaking and
entering and larceny and was
sentenced to two years on the first
charge, suspended for three and one
half years on condition that he be
placed on probation for three and
one half years, pay $5 restitution to
the prosecuting witness, and not
associate with Ervin Graham or
Albert McLean for the period of
probation. He was fined costs. Prayer
for judgment is continued for five
years on the second charge.
Ervin Graham of Raeford, pleaded
guilty to breaking and entering and
larceny and was sentenced to two
years, suspended on condition that
he remaremain on probation for a
period of three and one half years,
pay S5 restitution to prosecuting
witness, not associate with Albert
McLean or Leo McRae for the
duration of the probation period,
and pay costs.
Ernest Home, Rt. 1, Raeford, was
charged with contempt of court and
was sentenced to one week in Hoke
County Jail.
Debra Kay Cummings, Rt. 4,
Raeford, was found guilty of
possession of marijuana and was
sentenced to six months, suspended
for two years on condition ire
violate no narcotic laws for two years
and pay S1 SO and costs.
Ledbetter Jacobs, Rt. 1, Red
Springs, pleaded guilty to worthless
check and was sentenced to 60 days,
suspended on condition that S86.39
restitution is paid to Ralph Calloway
and costs were paid.
Mar^iall Ray Spencer, Rt. 4,
Asheboro, pleaded guilty to DUI,
(second offense) and was sentenced
to six months, suspended for two
years on condition that he not drive
for 12 months and pay $250 and
costs.
Jack Currie Beasley. Rt. 1,
Lumber Bridge, pleaded guilty to
improper equipment and was ordered
to pay costs.
Donald C. Locklear, Rt. 1, Red
Springs, pleaded guilty to DUI and
was sentenced to 90 days, suspended
for 12 months on condition that he
not drive for 12 months and pay
SI50 and costs.
Eddie Junior McNeill. Rt. 1,
Raeford, pleaded guilty to driving
without a license, failing to have
proper registration, and no liability
insurance, and was sentenced to 60
days, suspended for two years on
condition he pay 535 and costs.
Larry Chavis, Jr., Rt. 2, Raeford,
was found not guilty of carrying a
concealed weapon and transporting
alcoholic beverage.
Reggie McRae, Rt. 1, Raeford, was
found not guilty of larceny.
Charles Richard Clark, 710 N.
Main St., Raeford, pleaded guilty to
reckless driving and was sentenced to
60 days, suspended on condition that
he pay S100 and costs.
Davis Coins, Rt. 1. Red Springs,
was bound over to Superior Court on
diarges of assault with a deadly
weapon with intent to kill. Bond was
set at $5,000.
Joseph Alexander Bllinger, Rt. 2,
Raeford, pleaded guilty to DU1 and
was sentenced to 90 days, suspended
for 12 months on conditions that he
not drive for 12 months except for
limited driving privileges and pay
$150 and costs.
Henry Charles Odom, Rt. 2,
Raeford, was sentenced to six
months after violating probation
conditions.
Lacy Calvin Morris, P.O. Box 501,
Raeford, was found guilty of assault
on a female and prayer for judgment
was continued for three years and he
was fined costs.
Clyde WaU, Rt. 1, Red Springs,
pleaded guilty to injury to personal
property, and two counts of assault
with a deadly weapon and was
sentenced to six months, suspended
for two years, on condition that he
violate no penal law for two years
and pay $150 restitution and costs.
Evelop Henderson, Rt. 1, Red
Springs, pleaded guilty to DUI and
was sentenced to 90 days, suspended
for 12 months on condition that he
not drive for 12 months except
under limited privileges and pay
$150 and costs. Blood alcohol was
,15. according to records.
Kenneth Revels, Rt. 1. Raeford,
pleaded guilty to DUI and speeding
68 in a 55 mph zone and was
sentenced to 90 days suspended for
12 months on condition that he not
drive for 12 months except for
limited privileges and pay $ 150 and
costs. Blood alcohol level was .16,
according to records.
Durwood Cordell McLaughlin. Rt.
4, Asheboro, pleaded guilty to DUI
and was sentenced to 90 days
suspended on condition that he not
drive for 12 months and pay $150
and costs.
Eugene Emmanuel, Rt. 1, St.
Pauls, was found guilty of worthless
check and was sentenced to 60 days,
suspended on condition diat he pay
S75 restitution to Brady Locklear
and costs.
Roudainey Locklear. Rt. 1,
Pembroke, pleaded guilty to DUI and
was sentenced to 90 days, suspended
for 12 months on condition that he
not drive for 12 months except
under limited privileges and pay
5150 and costs. Blood alcohol
content was .18, according to
records.
Susie Oxendine. Rt. 2. Red
Springs, pleaded guilty to worthless
check and prayer for judgment was
continued on condition that she pay
SI 10.40 restitution to 211 Zip Mart
and costs.
James Herbert Love. Rt. I,
Raeford, pleaded guilty to driving
while his license was revoked and was
sentenced to 18 months, suspended
for two years and was plaecd on
probation for two years. He was
ordered not to drive for two years
and pay S200 and costs.
Charles Allen, Bullock St..
Fayettcville. pleaded guilty to DDI
(second offense) and driving left of
center and was sentenced to six
months, suspended for two years and
placed on probation for two years.
Me was ordered not to drive for two
years and pay S250 and costs.
Donald Pate, Antioch. pleaded
guilty to larceny and was sentenced
to 12 months, suspended for three
and one half years and placed on
probation for three and one half
years and was ordered to pay S50
restitution to prosecuting witness
and costs.
Clenn Mcinnis, Rt. 1, Shannon,
pleaded guilty to reckless driving and
stop sign violation and was sentenced
to 60 days, suspended on condition
dial he pay fine of SI00 and costs.
The state dropped charges of DUI.
Allen Scott. Rt. 4, Red Springs,
pleaded guilty to DUI (third offense)
as the state dropped charges of
driving while license was revoked. Me
was sentenced to 12 months. Blood
alcohol content was .17, according to
records.
John hdward Alford, Rt. 1,
Raeford, pleaded guilty to larceny as
die state took a nol pros on receiving
stolen goods. He was sentenced to
not less than one day or more than
two years.
Wayne Blanks. Rt. 1. St. Pauls,
pleaded guilty to no operator's
license and was sentenced to 30 days,
suspended on condition he pay S25

Lejeune, pleaded guilty to DUI and
was sentenced to 90 days, suspended
for 12 months, on condition that he

Ronald R. Roudebush, Kettering,
Ohio, pleaded guilty to DUI and was
sentenced to 90 days, suspended on
condition he not drive a motor
vehicle on a public highway after
12:00 midnight Aut. 9. 1975 and
pay $150 and costs. His blood
alcohol content was .18, according to
records.
