Coach: Jack Burgess Archery, Shooting Contest Set Aug. 20 At Armory Park A county-wide archery and BB gun shooting contest will be held Wednesday, August 20 at Armory Park. Registration will be held from 8:30-9:30 a.m. with a 25c registration fee. Everyone must register in order to participate. Any boy or girl between die ages of 8 and 19 may participate. There will be four age categories, participants are asked to bring their own equipment. For more information, contact die county extension office at 875-3461, or Gary Culp at 875-2914. The contest is being sponsored by 4-H, but is open to non-members. Revival Nights Begin Aug. 24 Evangelist Rev. Ed Minnoe will lead revival services beginning August 24 at 7:30 pm. nightly at the Second Baptist Church. Rev. Minnoe, a preacher for 25 years, is pastor of Oak City Baptist Church of Oak City, N.C. He is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Seminary at Wake Forest and will be attending Campbell College in the fall. The Pioneers quartet will sing Aug. 24. Special music will be provided on succeeding nights by Evangelic Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, Church of God, Arron Lake Baptist Church, West Lumberton Baptist Church, and North Lumberton Baptist Church. Practice will be held Tuesday, August 19 from 9:00 ajti.-12:00 noon and 1:00-4:00 pan. Prizes will be given to the first place winner in each age category for both Archery and BB Gun Shooting Contest.
