Outdoor Wedding In New York Unites Dolch-Wilson Couple Miss Frances Rebecca Wilson and Rev. Arthur George Dolch, both of Rochester. New York, were united in marriage at two-twenty in the afternoon on Saturday. August 16. The wedding took place in a wooded glade overlooking Echo Lake in the Adirondack Mountains of Speculator. New York. The bride is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Kelly J. Wilson. Jr. of Raeford. The groom is the son ol the Rev. and Mrs. George W. Dolch of Cortland. New York. The bride wore a full-length dress which she had made of ivory gabardine and lace. Bridge Mrs Webb Mrs. Martin Webb was hostess to her bridge club and one guest, Mrs. Robert Holcombe last Thursday evening. Dessert and iced tea were served when guests arrived. Nuts, chips and Cokes were served during the evening. High score prize was won by Mrs. Julian Wright and consolation prize was presented to Mrs. Berder Niven. Bingo prizes were won by Mrs. June Johnson and Mrs. Earl Gordon. Mrs Lamont Mrs. William Lamont was hostess to her bridge club last Thursday evening. A dessert course was served before the game. Only club members were present and Mrs. John Campbell was high scorer. Conoly Reunion The Conoly Family held their annual reunion Sunday, August 24. at the Antioch Presbyterian Church. Presiding over the clan was J intmy Neal Conoly, family president. He introduced Don Conoly and Jesse Jones who presented the Conoly family history. Rev. Ben Ferguson, Pastor of Antioch church presented the prayer and invocation. Elected as family officers for the next year were Robert L. Conoly, president; Don Conoly, vice-preadent; and Robert Jones, Secretary-treasurer. Lynn Conoly, 8 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Conoly was recognized as the youngest member of the family present. Mrs. Flora Baker was the most senior member present and Whiteford Jones from Richmond, Va. traveled the longest distance to attend. Approximately 165 relatives and friends enjoyed the picnic dinner on the grounds. Personals Mrs. Michael Hinnant and daughter of Goldsboro and Mr. and Mrs. Don Conoly and family of Raleigh spent the weekend with their mother Mrs. Roy Conoly. Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Graham of the Bowmore Community recently returned from a vacation visiting relatives in Atlantic City, N. J., Bridgeport, Conn., and Boston, Mass. Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Watson and sons Mike and Chris accompanied them. Mrs. L. E. Nichols had as her guests last week her mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Dooley, and her niece and nephew, Tim and Sherry Williams, all of Roanoke, Va. On Sunday Mrs. Nichols and daughter, Christy, and her houseguests visited her daughter, Mrs. Cindy Synder, in Wilmington. Mr. and Mrs. Vardell Hedgpeth and famdy have returned home after vacationing at Camp Arrowhead, Myrtle Beach. Mrs. W. B. McDiarmid and Mrs. Lee Cameron were overnight guests in the home of Mrs. McDtarmid's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston, in Winchester, Virginia, enroute to Philadelphia, where they attended the Jenkins-Montague wedding. Mrs. Johnston accompanied them to the wedding. Miss Montague is the daughter of the former Miss Mary Shaw McDiarmid of Raeford. Mr. and Mrs. Marty Jones, Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Conoly and Mrs. Debby Woodell and daughter Pam spent last weekend at Carolina Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Jones stayed on for several days last week. Allyson Amey of Rochester, New York, played the guitar and sang the "Wedding Song" by Paul Stuckey. She was spontaneously accompanied in song by 3-year old Brian Bell. Sheila Clawson, Rochester, New York craftswoman, made and presented the gold rings to the couple. A long, white hanging, macramed by Rev. Doug Fox of Rochester swayed in the breeze behind the altar. Wildflowers decorated the altar as well as the outdoor sanctuary. Over 200 guests, including seventeen ministers read the charge to the couple and pronounced them husband and wife. The bride is a graduate of Duke University, Durham, North Carolina and will begin work on her masters of divinity at Colgate Rochester-Bexley Hall-Crozier Theological Seminary in the fall. The groom is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. He is presently the youth minister at Asbury First United Methodist Church, Rochester, New York. After a wedding trip in New England, the couple will make their home in Rochester, New York. Reception Following the ceremony, the guests were entertained by a North Carolina 'Tig Picking" engineered by the bride's father who roasted a full-size pig. Other guests and relatives brought salads and casseroles. Norma Carter Fox attended the guest book. The wedding cake, baked by Mrs. Julie Mayers of Speculator, New York was a three-tiered yellow cake decorated with daisies and wildflowers. In the center of the cake was a tiny balsam fir seedling which is to be planted by the Dolches. Rehearsal Dinner The groom's parents. Rev. and Mrs. George Dolch entertained the couple and twenty-five other guests with a chicken barbecue at their summer cabin, also the site of the wedding. Rachels - High Couple Iew Bntt Married At Antioch irt Mrs. Percy Rachels, Jr. Miss Betty Watson High, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Lewis High of Red Springs and Percy Lee Rachels Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Lee Rachels Sr. of Wakulla were united in marriage Sunday afternoon, August 10, at 5:00 in Antioch Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Ben Ferguson performed the double ring cermony. A program of wedding music was presented by William Daniels organist and Stephen Phillips soloist. The chimes rang five times to mark the beginning of the ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of candlelight silk organza which was worn by her sister on her wedding day. Fashioned in the empire silhouette, the neckline featured a split mondarine collar and the bodice extended into full bishop sleeves with threee inch cuffs. The entire gown was encrusted with peau d'age lace motifs and seed pearls. Her detachable cathedral length train flowed from the waist. It was fashioned in the same manner as the gown. Her headdress was a cathedral length Madonna Drape mantilla edged with peau d'age lace and seed pearls attached to a Camelot Cap of peau d'age lace. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses surrounded by light blue stephanotis. Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister Mrs. Fulton Smith. She was attired in a formal blue print gown of voile. Bridesmaids were Miss Beth Currie of Red Springs, cousin of the bride, Misses Nancy and Betty Rachels of Wakulla and Mrs. Wilson Proctor of Sanford, sisters of the groom, Mrs. Jerry Scott of Laurinburg, and Mrs. Earl Bullock of Fairmont. The flower girl was Miss Run Proctor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Proctor of Sanlord. Tommy Rachels served his biother as best man. Ushers were l)a\id Currie of Red Springs and Pender High of Middlesex, cousins of the bride. Fulton Smith of Red Springs, brother-in-law of the bride. Wilson Proctor of Sanford. brother-in-law of the groom. Sandy Livingston of Red Springs, and A1 Lane of Laurinburg. Mrs. Dave Currie. aunt of the bride, served as director of the wedding. Mrs. Rachels attended Louisburg College and is a graduate of Womack-Selenia Business School. She is employed by J.P. Stevens Co. of Wagram. The groom served two years in the U.S. Army. He is employed with McNair Farms Inc. of Laurinburg. After a wedding trip to Florida the couple are at home in Laurinburg. Personals Gloria Harrison and Gil McNaughton ot' Dallas. Miss Donna Jo Britt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Algon Quinn Britt of Orrum was united in marriage with David Brantley Tew, son of Mrs. Martha Davis Tew of Eainnont, on Saturday evening, July 12 in Barnesvillc Baptist Church. Mrs. Radford Collins of Raeford directed the ceremony for her cousin. Mrs. Myrtle Sappenfield and Mrs. Bill Crawley of Raeford, Aunts of the bride assisted at the reception. Mrs. Tew is a former teacher at McTauchlin Elementary School in Raeford. She and her husband arc making their home in Chapel Hill.
