Coach Cites 'Bigger' So. Durham
"They'll be bigger than we are,"
said Moke High football coach Bill
Cameron as he was referring to the
Buck's game with Southern Durham
Friday night.
Cameron seemed to think that the
weather would have a lot to do with
the game. He said that the Bucks
would practice under the lights at
Hoke High Stadium most of this
week because of the weather.
"The weather will have a lot to do
with tire ballgame and I think the
kicking game will be important also,"
he said.
Cameron still did not have an
official starting lineup for Friday's
game but gave a close to accurate
account of what the Bucks would
probably look like.
He said die Bucks offensive team
would probably look like this:
Anthony Freeman, fullback; Allen
Thomas, tailback; Joe Poole,
quarterback; Reginald McRae,
Franklin Jordan or Vernon Morrison,
wingback; Frank Kicklighter. center;
Mike Johnson, Thomas Farmer or
Steve Ininan, guards; Avery White,
Billy Freeman, or Daniel McNeill,
tackle; Ernest Pecora, tight end; and
Russell McAllister or Eddie Penncll
at split end.
The defensive team would
probably look like this: Thomas
Farmer, Frank Kickligliter, or Tim
Frahm, ends; Avery White. Mike
Johnson, or Daniel McNeill, tackles;
Reginald McRac, Keith Floyd or
Dick McNeill, linebackers; Alan
Thomas, Eddie Penncll, or Vernon
Morrison, cornerbacks; and David
Howell and Franklin Jordan, safeties
Cameron said that punter Noaf
Hendrix is back after an injury.
"Practice has been good and the
players have really put forth a good
etfort considering the weather and
the number of players we have." said
Cameron.
"The attitude of the team is the
best we've ever had," he said.
Cameron said that he is expecting
a high scoring ballgame Friday night
Gametime is 8 p.m.
