Deaths And Funerals Infant Baker Funeral services for Joseph Arthur Baker, age 14 months, were conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday at First Baptist Church. Joseph died Thursday at N.C. Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill after undergoing open heart surgery. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. BQly Baker of Raeford; a sister, Miss Anita Marlene Baker of the home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Hardison of Raeford; paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Roland Baker of Raeford. Pallbearers were Steve Maxwell, Deon Clark, Leon Clark. William Clark, Craig Stone, and Kenneth Fredericks. Philip B. Rieg Funeral services for Philip B. Rieg, former executive secretary of the Raeford Chamber of Commerce, were conducted Monday at 11 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. Graveside services were held Monday at 3 P.M. at Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville. Rieg, 49, died Saturday. He was executive vice-president of the Greater Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Stevens Rieg; a son. Philip B. Rieg, Jr., of the home; and two daughter, Mrs. Susan Taylor of Jacksonville and Miss Patricia Ann Rieg of the home. Adell Watson Funeral services for Adell Watson of Rt. I, Aberdeen, were conducted last Thursday at 4 P.M. in Mountain Grove A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. C. Lyons officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Watson, 66, died Aug. 23. Surviving are two daughters. Miss Lizzie Watson and Mrs. Eloise McNeill of Washington, DC.; two sons, Willie Watson and Johnny Watson of New York City; and one brother, Richard Watson of New York City. Harris A graveside service for Mrs. Ethel M. Harris, 77, of Rt. 1, Raeford, who died Tuesday, August 26, was held last Thursday at 2 pjn. at the Raeford Cemetery by the Revs. P. O. Lee and John Ropp. Surviving are her husband. Arthur A. Harris; two daughters, Mrs. John J. Koloski of Washington D. C., and Mrs. L. S. Gordon of Waldwick, N. J.; a son, William A. Harris of El Cajon, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Winnie Cameron of Raeford. Ted Morris Funeral services for Ted Morris, 68, of Rt. 1, Raeford, who died last Friday, were held Wednesday at the Solid Rock Holiness Church by the eldress Hattie McRae. Burial was in the Mountain Grove Church Cemetery. Mrs. Maggie Moore Mrs. Maggie Moore of Raeford died Tuesday morning. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Doby Funeral Home. Jr. Warehouse Designation Period Closes Sept. 5 Operators of tobacco farms who wish to designate or re-designate a warehouse at which to sell their tobacco may do so Aug- 19 - Sept. S, the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (JASCS) announced. Farmers should bring the tobacco marketing cards for the warehouses involved in the re-designation. Farm operator and owner may lease tobacco poundage from one .farm to another up until Nov. 30, 1975 under these conditions: Farms with 2,000 pounds or less may lease tobacco off farm even though no tobacco is being grown for 1975; Farms with an effective allotment of over 2,000 pounds, both the receiving and transferring farm must have planted at least 50 per cent or more of effective allotment during 1975 to be eligible to lease and transfer tobacco to or from farm. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced that the base loan rate for 1975 upland cotton for Hoke county is $37.25. Cost-share, at the rate of $4 per acre is available to farmers who wish to protect their land during the coming winter months with a winter cover crop. To be eligible for a payment, the fanner must request cost - share before the process is started and complete the seeding by Nov. 20. The Department also issued a reminder that disaster applications must be filed no later than IS days after harvesting the crop. N.C. TENTH North Carolina ranks in the top 10 states in export of farm ? grown goods. The Tar Heel state ranked tenth in 1974 with exports valued at $772 million.
