Stonewall Report By Miss Ida Graves Mrs. Bessie McMillan was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar McGougan for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Lesley Sandy and sons, Ricky, Allen and Brenda Conoly were dinner guests of Mrs. William Walker in Laurinburg for Thanksgiving. We are sorry to report Mrs. Maude Sandy isn't doing very well. She is in a Rest Home in Augusta, Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Jones spent Thanksgiving at Carolina Beach. Mrs. Leona Chason wishes to thank her many friends for the lovely flowers and cards, and visits while she was hospitalized. Mrs. AI lie K. Maxwell and daughter, Mrs. Flo Clairdy were dinner guests of her nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Larry McGougan. Mrs. O.B. Maxwell's guests for the Thanksgiving holidays were, Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Maxwell and children, Mary Pal and Bart of Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. O.B. Maxwell Jr. and their children Diane and Stanley were also guests of Mrs. Maxwell. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Maxwell spent the Thanksgiving holidays at home. Miss , Robbin Maxwell is a student at East Carolina College. Mrs. Jennette Jackson underwent surgery last week in Laurinburg Hospital. Our prayers for a speedy recovery. Eli Shankle is in Moore County Hospital. Our last report from him, Mr. Shankle was in Intensive Care. Our prayers also for his speedy reoovery. Mr. and Mrs. William Harriss, son Robin and Boyd Orick, visited Mr. Harriss' mother in Salisbury for Thanksgiving. Mr. Harriss and Mr. Orick returned home after Thanksgiving. Mrs. Harriss and Robin returned Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. LA!. Chason were Thanksgiving dinner guests of their daughter, Mrs. Clellon McKenzie. Misses Thresa, Clenda McKenzie, Debbie and Vickie Cauldcr, and Mr. Ted Hough attended the Gospel Ralley, feeding of five thousand, in Sanford Sat. night. Mrs. Clellon McKenzie and daughter, attended the Wednesday night Thanksgiving service at the Methodist Church in Raeford. L.M. Chason and son, Tom wish to express their gratitude to the men of Su^iy Giu?e Methodist Church wfif&v came and "Cut fire wood for them. It is wonderful to know you have such nice friends. Mrs. J .A. Jones visited her husband in Greensboro at the Star Mont Villa Rest Home. Mrs. Jones guests for the holidays were Jimmy ' Jones, Mrs. Rudy Cobb and daughters, Mary and Amey from Merry Hill and Charlotte. Mrs. Maggie Dean celebrated her 77th birthday at Ephcsus Baptist Church. AU of her children and grand children and great grandchildren were present. Also Rev. and Mrs. Willard Singletary. There were many gifts and wonderful occasion. There were also many friends which helped with the dinner and serving. Mr. and Mrs. Armond Black's grand children Brenda and Shurel Black spent the weekend with them. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Adams Jr. spent die holidays with Mrs. Mary Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Adams ate from Silver Springs, Maryland. Mr. and Mrs. Odel Miller a very happy 16th anniversary with their children Cindy, Cathy, Susan and Michael, Eddie and Stevie. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Royal and their daughter Miss Linda Huff, spent the holidays in Eden with Mrs. Royal's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cay Ratless. They also enjoyed dinner one night with Mrs. Royal's son and daughter ? in - law, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Huff and daughter, Amey. We are sorry to report Mrs. Pat Jackson is ill, hope she will be well very soon. The guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold A. Chasion and daughters, Wanda and Kathie Sunday, were Mrs. Myrtle Sappenfield, Mrs. Kay Collins , Mrs. Mary Ann Goodman. Also Mrs. Hazel Davis, Mrs. Annabel Adcox and Mrs. Margie Chason. They also visited Mrs. Leona Chason. Guests of Rev. and Mrs. WQlard Singletary were their daughters and sons - in ? laws, Mr. and Mrs. Graham Jones and grand children Kay and Garry of Raleigh, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Martin of Asheboro, their son Berry Michel Singeltary of Senilis Ford for the Thanksgiving Holidays. Rev. and Mrs. Willard Singeltary visited their mothers, Mrs. Effie Singeltary and Mrs. Lizy Reller of Rockingham. Mr. and MrsXuther Jackson spent Thanksgiving in Fayetteville with Mrs. Porter. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Neil A. Jackson and son Greg visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hagan. Mr. and Mrs. Hagan's son Greg is very ill. Sorry to report Mrs. Nannie Wickline isn't feeling very well. She was visited Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Walker and Mrs. Frank Davis and Mrs. Adcox. Hoke County Communications Inc. has started its Christmas program for the needy families. Hoke County Communications, Inc. is a non profit organization. It is requested with the State as such. AU donations are deductible. They work with Civil Defense, and law enforcement and Rescue Squad if asked. We do not play policemen. Anyone having toys, clothing, etc. for children please take it to the old Post Office Building if they wish to donate. All donations are tax deductible. Anyone which do not have a way of taking these toys, clothing and etc. for the needy, please call Johnny Graves, 875-4717. There is an answering service on his phone. General Fund Up October 1975 net General Fund collections amounted to S121.2 million as compared with $101.9 million collected in October, 1974, an increase of 18.95%, according to the Department of Revenue report. For the first four months of the current fiscal year, net General Fund collections were $480.3 mil lion compared with $457.8 million for the first four months of the 1974-75 fiscal year, an increase of $22.5 million or 4.93%. October net Highway Fund col lections amounted to $25.9 million compared with $22.4 million col lected in October, 1974, an in crease of $3.5 million or 15.63%. Gasoline tax receipts amounted to $23.4 million compared with $20.9 million collected in October, 1974, an increase of $2.5 million or 12.04%. Net Highway Fund collections for the first four months of the current fiscal year were $107.8 million as compared with $99.2 million collected during the first four months of the 1974-75 .
