In District Court
Pair Bound Over
For Armed Robbery
Two men pleaded not guilty to
armed robbery charges and probable
cajac was found by District Court
Judge Joseph Dupree Friday and
they were bound over to Hoke
County Superior Court for action by
the grand jury.
Kenneth R. Brewer, of Rt. 7, Box
494, Lumberton, and Linnie
Locklear, Rt. 4, Box 876, Red
Springs, pleaded not guilty to armed
robbery and probable cause was
found following a hearing.
The two were arrested in
connection with the robbery of the
County Line Grocery Nov. 7, where
$755 was taken from A.B. Hudson,
owner of the store.
Johnny Bount, 425 Homestead
Drive, Fayetteville, pleaded guilty to
reckless driving and prayer for
judgment was continued for two
years and he was fined costs.
? David Lee Purcell, Rt. l.Raeford,
was found guilty of driving while his
license was revoked and he was
sentenced to 12 months. The
defendant gave a notice of appeal.
Fred Douglas Ray, Rt. 3, Raeford,
pleaded guilty to DUI, ficticious
number plate, and reckless driving
and was sentenced to six months.
The defendant gave a notice of
appeal, and bond was continued.
Blood alcohol content was .10
according to records.
J.L. Leach, Rt. I, Lumber Bridge,
pleaded guilty to ficticious number
plate, resisting an officer, driving
without a license, and no registration
and was sentenced to 90 days.
Vintress Brooks, Rt. 3, Red
Springs, pleaded guilty to DUI ana
no operator's license and was
sentenced to 90 days. Blood alcohol
content was .27, according to record.
Leslie R. Stone, Ft. Bragg, pleaded
guilty to two counts of worthless
checks and was fined S33.75
restitution and costs and sentenced
to 30 days suspended. He also
pleaded guilty to two more counts of
worthless checks and was sentenced
to 30 days, suspended, and fined
$36.26 restitution and costs.
Harvey R. Jones, Rt. 1, Lumber
Bridge, pleaded guilty to pre ?
arranged speed competition and was
sentenced to two years, with the first
six months of the sentence to be
served with the remaining 18 months
suspended for three and one half
years and placed on probation for
three and one half years on condition
he not drive for 18 months.
Henry Melvin Jacobs. Rt. I,
Shannon, pleaded guilty to pre -
arranged speed competition and was
sentenced to two years, with the first
six months of the sentenoe to be
served and the remaining 18 months
suspended for three and one half
years and placed on probation for
three and one half years on condition
that he not drive for 18 months.
Harry G. Haskell Jr., Chadds Ford,
Pa., pleaded guilty to exceeding a
safe speed and was fined S2S and
costs.
Dock Morrisey, Raeford, pleaded
guilty to driving while his license was
revoked and was ordered to
surrender his limited driving privilege
and not drive until licensed to do so
and fined $200 and costs.
Bonnie Ruth Clark, pleaded guilty
to driving while her license was
revoked and was sentenced to one
year, suspended for two years and
placed on probation for two years on
condition that she not drive until
licensed to do so and pay S200 and
costs.
Tommie Barnes, Shannon, pleaded
guilty to DUI after die state dropped
charges of reckless driving and was
sentenced to 90 days, suspended for
12 months, and ordered not to drive
for 12 months and fined SI50 and
costs. Blood alcohol content was .12.
according to records.
Fred William Zabitosky.
Pembroke, pleaded guilty to speeding
89 in a 55 MPH zone and driving left
of center, and was sentenced to 60
days, suspended for two years and
fined SI00and costs.
Vernon Locklear, Fairfax, Va.
pleaded guilty to DUI and was
sentenced to 90 days, suspended for
12 months and ordered not to drive
for 12 months and except for limited
driving privileges and fined SI50and
oosts. Blood alcohol content was .18,
according to records.
Larry Darnell Toney, Ft Bragg,
pleaded guilty to speeding 68 in a 55
MPH zone and driving while his
license was suspended and was
sentenced to six months, suspended
for two years and ordered not to
drive until properly licensed to do so
and fined S200 and cosls.
Janftes Robert Womble, 113 Wright
St., Raeford, pleaded guilty to
speeding 68 in a 55 MPH zone and
prayer for judgment was continued
for two years and he was fined costs.
Helen A. Locklear, Shannon,
pleaded guilty to a stop sign violation
and driving with a license known to
be expired and was fined SIO, and
costs.
Carlos Wendell Goodman, Jr.. Rt.
4, Raeford, pleaded guilty to littering
and was fined costs of court.
Aaron Earl Brewer, Rt. 2, Maxton,
pleaded guilty to failing to report an
accident and was sentenced to 30
days, suspended, and fined S25 and
costs.
Donald Locklear, Rt. 1, Red
Springs, pleaded guilty to assault
with a deadly weapon and prayer for
judgment was continued for three
years and he was fined costs.
Charles Edward Morriscy. 512 E.
Sixth Ave., Raeford, pleaded guilty
to speeding 67 in a 55 MPH zone and
was fined $5, and costs.
Brenda Faye Locklear, Rt. I,
Shannon, pleaded guilty to ficticious
registration and was fined costs.
Edward Earl McNair, Ft. Bragg,
pleaded guilty to speeding 67 in a 55
MPH zone and prayer for judgment
was continued for two years and he
was fined costs.
Leon Hendley, Pope Air Force
Base, pleaded guilty to speeding 69
in a 55 MPH zone after the state
dropped charges of driving without a
valid license and was fined SIO and
oosts.
Donald J. Olson, Raeford, was
found guilty of driving in excess of
35 MPH in a 35 MPH zone and
prayer for judgment was continued
on condition he pay costs.
Jacquelyn Lee Wimberley, 436
College Drive, Raeford, pleaded
guilty to speeding 66 in a 55 MPII
zone and prayer for judgment was
continued for two years and she was
fined costs.
Claude Bernard Bray, Raeford,
pleaded guilty to speeding 70 in a 55
MPH zone and prayer for judgment
was continued for two years and lie
was fined costs.
Tommy D Caldwell, Charlotte,
pleaded guilty to speeding 67 in a 55
MPH zone and prayer for judgment
was continued and he was fined
costs.
Joe Allen Boahn, Rt. 4, Raeford.
was found not guilty of DUI and
driving while his license was revoked.
Gene Autry Glover. Rt. 7,
Luniberton, pleaded guilty to a stop
light violation and prayer for
judgment was continued for two
years and he was fined costs.
William Reginald Tally, Rt. 1,
Linden, pleaded guilty to inspection
violation and for good cause shown,
cost that were charged were
remitted.
William Monroe Bratcher. Rt. I.
Raeford, pleaded guilty to an
inspection violation as the state
dropped chargcs of driving without a
license and was sentenced to 30 days,
suspended, and fined costs.

dismissal on the following cases:

When you want to deposit or cash a check you have received from
someone else, you must endorse it ? sign your name (and sometimes
other information) on the back of the check.
A BLANK ENDORSEMENT (figure 2 below) shows only your
signature, and authorizes the bank ? at its discretion - to pay the
amount of the check to anyone who presents it (and also endorses it).
Blank endorsements should be used with caution ? normally only when
you are at a teller's window, ready to cash the check.
A SPECIAL ENDORSEMENT (figure 3 below) allows you to designate
the specific firm or person who should receive payment of the check.
A RESTRICTIVE ENDORSEMENT (figure 4 below) limits the use of
the check for a particular purpose. Always use a restrictive endorsement
when you are depositing a check to your account.
If your name is misspelled on the check, first endorse it the same way,
then the correct way.
