Mrs. Carlton Niven, Social Reporter, 875-3785 MissEasterling Is Bride Of David Stanley Farmer Miss Deborah Rose Easterling and David Stanley Farmer were married at six o'clock Saturday evening, December 27th, in a candlelight setting at historic Bethel Presbyterian Church. The bride's pastor, the Reverend George R. Cheney Jr. officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Easterling, is a 1972 {graduate of Hoke High School. She is a senior at East Carolina University, a member of the Beta Eta Chapter of Phi Upsilon Omi dtbm, a national honorary profes sional home economics fraternity. Slae attended Western Carolina ^diversity for two years and was a member of Delta Zeta Sority, the American Home Economics As sociation and a Senator of the Student Government Association. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Alex Farmer. A 1971 graduate of Hoke High School, the bridegroom attended Sandhills Community College, served three years with the Fifth Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, and is now attending Pitt Technical Institute in Greenville. A program of nupital music was presented by Miss Jane Barnes, organist. Charles Hottel, vocalist, sang "One Hand, One Heart" and "The Wedding Prayer". Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of ivory maracaine and Venice lace fashioned with Queen Ann collar, long fitted sleeves, and appliques of lace on the bodice, sleeves and natural waistline. The circular skirt extended into a lace-bordered chapel train. Her chapel-length mantilla of imported silk illusion, completely bordered with Venice lace flowerettes, fell from a band of lace motifs. She carried a cascade of white roses and ivy. The matron of honor was Mrs. Sandy Barr of Raleigh, cousin of the bride. Miss Lydia Farmer, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. Their turquoise blue ^maracaine gowns were fashioned with empire waistlines, long fitted sleeves and >"all flowing skirts. Venice lace bordered the neckline and lace appliques were featured Hon the bodice. A red velvet bow with streamers accented their white and red floral cluster headpieces. Each carried three long-stem red Bridesmaids were Misses Bar bara Plummer, Joan Hottel. Kaye MeFadyen of Vass, Rebecca Sheidy of Greenville, and Mrs. John Nicholson, Jr. of Laurinburg. They were dressed identical to the honor attendants and each carried a single long-stem red rose. Honorary bridesmaids were Misses Lynn Davis of Aberdeen, cousin of the bride, and Martha Shaw Clark, cousin of the bridegroom. Miss Melinda Fanner of Wil mington, cousin of the bridegroom, was flower girl. She wore a light blue long gown, made with tiered skirt and her headpiece was identical to those worn by the bridesmaids. She carried a wicker basket of pompons. Ring bearer was Gregory Mc Lean of Charlotte, cousin of the bride. Mr. Farmer served as best man ter his son. The ushers were Tommy Farmer of Wilmington, cousin of the bridegroom; Kenneth Clark, cousin of the bridegroom; RcMh Davis of Aberdeen, cousin oPthe bride; Ricky Sandy, J.D. Williams of Tunica, Mississippi; and Ted Cox of Fort Bragg. Honorary usher was Joseph Alex Farmer Jr., brother of the bride groom. For her daughter's wedding. Mrs. Easterling chose a formal gown of pink chiffon. Her evening bag was accented with a white orchid corsage. Mrs. Farmer, mother of the bridegroom, wore a formal gown of light blue chiffon and carried a white orchid corsage on her matching evening bag. Honoriguests were Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Easterling, grand parents of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Wade Terry of Laurinburg, great-aunt and uncle of the bride groom. Mrs. Frances Danella of Ohio, cousin of the bridegroom, attended the bride's book. Mrs. Reid Childress, aunt of the bride groom, directed the wedding. * Immediately following the wed ding ceremony, the bride's parents gave a reception in the church fellowship hall. A color note of white, red and ?green was used. After the bride and groom cut th? traditional first slice of wedding cake, It was served by the groom's aunt, Mrs. H.J. Edge of Aberdeen, and Mrs. John D. Clark of Rae Mrs. David Stanley Farmer ford. Alternating in pouring punch were aunts of the bride, Mrs. M.T. Davis of Aberdeen, and Mrs. Fred Hendrix of Raeford. Tea girls were Misses Wanda Cole of Aberdeen, cousin of the bride; Peggy Cecil and Lisa Dalton of Raeford. Mr. and Mrs. Julian Wright greeted the guests who were regi stered by Miss Lynn Davis. Good byes were said to Mr. and Mrs. Guy Bullock. Later in the evening the bridal couple left on a wedding trip to Atlanta. Georgia. For travel the bride changed into a blue plaid pant suit. Upon their return, they will reside in Greenville, N.C. Bridemaids-Tea Miss Easterling entertained at a tea Saturday afternoon at her home honoring her attendants and wed ding director. She chose this occa sion in which to present gifts to them. Miss Easterling was assisted by her mother and aunt, Mrs. Charles T. Tuttle of Edmond, Oklahoma. Rehearsel Dinner Friday evening, after the wed ding rehearsal. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Alex Farmer, Joseph Alex Farmer Jr.. Miss Lydia Farmer and Mr. and Mrs. Reid Childress were hosts for a dinner at the Hoke Civic Center. Assisting in receiving guests were Mr. and Mrs. James F. McPhaul and Mrs. Leslie Sandy of Raeford. Ms. Frances Danella of Akron, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. M.T. Davis of Aberdeen. The bride's table was centered with a large wedding bell filled with white mums, red and white roses, gypsophila and fern. Other tables were decorated with ivy and can dles. Candelabra and greenery were used on the piano and console. Another table held an antique lamp, inherited from the bride groom's paternal grandmother. Palms were used along the walls. A traditional dinner of ham, turkey, dressing, gravy, preen beans, potato salad, rolls, fruit pies and tea was served. Guests included the wedding party, local friends and relatives, and the following from out of town: Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Terry of Laurinburg, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Farmer Jr. of Wrightsville Beach, Ms. Frances Danella of Akron, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. M.T. Davis, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Edge and Jerry Lee. all of Aberdeen; Mrs. Tommy Farmer of Wilmington, Mrs. Myrtle Powers of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tuttle of Edmond. Ok., and Mr. and Mrs. Neill McLean of Char lotte. John Nicholson Jr. of Laurin burg. and Sandy Barr of Raleigh. Bachelor Party Friday night, following the re hearsal dinner, the bridegroom was host for a bachelor party at the Blue Springs community house. Guests included male members of the wedding party and Joe Farmer, Sandy Barr and Neill McLean. Bridegroom's Luncheon Blue Springs Community House was again the setting when the bridegroom entertained at lun cheon Saturday honoring his ushers. Guests with the ushers were the fathers of the bridal couple, and Joe Farmer. Gregory McLean, C.H. Farmer Jr., Sandy Barr and Neill McLean. Charcoaled steaks and appro priate accompaniments were served. Mr. Far ;ier presented engraved identificati >n bracelets to his mem bers of the wedding party. Dinner Honors Engaged Couple Billy McNeill and Miss Debra Calloway, whose wedding is planned for the first of February, were honored on Sunday evening al a dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Daniels. Hosts were Miss Sally Mac Johnson, William Daniels and Vann McBryde. Holiday decorations were used on the buffet table and individual tables where 18 guests enjoyed the dinner and hospitality. The couple was presented a toaster from the hosts. Wheatley - Dillon Angela S. Dillon of Raleigh, and Rex H. Wheatley Jr. of Washing ton, N.C., were married December 26, at 10:00 a.m., at Greenwood Forest Baptist Church in Cary. The bride, daughter of Mrs. H.H. Dillon of Raeford, and the late Mr. Dillon, attended Worth Business College and is employed by General Machinery Co. of Raleigh, as manager of accounting department. Mr. Wheatley is a graduate of Georgia State University and is employed as a salesman with Alfred Williams & Co. in Raleigh. After their wedding trip to Williamsburg, Va., they will be at home in Raleigh. THURSDAY. JANUARY I. 1976 M cM i 11 i an - Lentz Vows Spoken On December 13 Miss Lela Kay Lentz and Phillip Arnold McMillian were married December 13, at 4:00 p.m., in the Raeford Presbyterian Church. The Rev. John C. Ropp officiated for the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Buddy Daniels of Route 2, and the late William Thomas Lentz. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. J.D. Mc Millian and the late Mr. McMillian. Music was furnished by Mrs. William Senter, organist, and Les ter Southern, soloist. Mrs. Jean L. Huseonica was matron of honor for her sister. She wore a long gown of green knit with yellow velvet ribbon trim and carried a bouquet of yellow mums, gypsophila and pompons. Bridesmaids, wearing yellow gowns with green trim, were Kristi Frahm, Barbara Cox, and Jennifer Sessoms. The bride was given in marriage by her step-father, Mr. Daniels. She wore a gown of sata peau with Alencon lace and Chantilly lace trim, which was made by the bridegroom's grandmother, Mrs. Maggie Cox. Her illusion veil was edged in pearl-embroidered Chan tilly lace and she carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations, gypso phila and yellow roses, centered with a white orchid. Robert M. Cox Jr., uncle of the bridegroom, served as best man. Ushers were Mitchell Cox, William Senter and William T. Lentz Jr. Following the ceremony, a recep tion was held in the church fellowship hall. The bridal couple honeymooned on the Outer Banks and are now at home on Route 1, Shannon. The bride is a senior at Hoke County High School. The bride groom was graduated from Hoke County High School and attended Pembroke State U. and Sandhills Community College. Personals Mr. and Mrs. R.S. McCleskey of Winston-Salem, visited her mother. Mrs. C.E. Upchurdi Sr., during the holiday weekend. Miss Ellen Currie spent the holidays in Lakeland, Fla., with her sister-in-law, Mrs. James G. Currie. and daughter Barbara. Mrs. Phillip Arnold McMillian Holiday Visit Mrs. Jesse Peoples left December 18 for Hendersonville, Tenn., to be with her grandson, Edgar Lefler IV, while her daughter was in the hospital with a new baby, Jason Alvin, who was born December 19. Mr. Peoples and daughter Pam, and another daughter, Mrs. John Stokes, and Mr. Stokes of Wash ington, N.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Repsch of Fayetteville, joined them for the Christmas holidays. Mrs. Peoples remained in Hendersonville. for an extended visit with her daughter. Mr. Lefler has been promoted to superintendent of dyeing for Ten nessee Tufting Co. of Nashville.
