Stolen Go-oart Found
A go-cart valued at $225 was
recovered by Deputy J.H. Riley in a
wooded area off 401 By-pass. The
vehicle was reported stolen to the
Raeford Police Department by Mrs.
Maggie Singletary, of 409 Woolcy
Street, Wednesday, Jan. 14.
In other incidents, two boxes of
chickens were reported missing front
Home Food Market Saturday, Jan.
17. The chicken was valued at S58.
Robert G. Leach. 106 E. Prospect
Ave.. Raeford. reported that
someone took a ten-speed bicycle
from his house sometime between
Wednesday and Friday last week.
The bike was a girls model.
Daniel Brock, Rt. 2. Raeford,
reported that someone broke into his
house sometime Friday. Jan. 9. and
took two guns valued at S70 and a
pearl necklace set.
James Plummer, Rt. 4. Raeford.
complained that someone broke into
his house sometime Sunday. Jan. 18.
and took a .22 rifle with a scope
valued at $50.

Girls Lose In Overtime

Upchurch girls lost their first
game Friday in overtime to Wicker,
49-45. Costly errors sent three of
the starters to the bench in foul
trouble early in the third quarter.
The leading scorer was Sharon
McMillan with 24, followed by
Brenda Graham with eight.
Wicker never lost their cool and
came back after trailing by eight
ooints to win the overtime. I^ariino
scorer was C. Huffstetler with 3U,
followed by S. Womble with eight.
In last Monday's game, the
Upchurch girls defeated Jonesboro
40-26 after trailing 24-26 at the end
of the third quarter.
The girls held Jonesboro score
less in the last quarter and hit 16
points to win by 14. S. McMillan
was the leading scorer for the
Eagles with 20, followed by C.
Mclntrye with eight. V. Holmes
had 12 points for Jonesboro.
