, Moroney - Faulk Couple Exchanges Vows
Miss Judith Gay Faulk and Charles
Ralph Maroney, Jr. were united in
marriage at the Raeford United
Methodist Church in a 3 o'clock
ceremony on March 6.
The Rev. Kelly Wilson and Rev.
William Guinn officiated the double
ring ceremony. Organist was Miss
Janes Barnes and Lester Southern,
soloist.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs.
William Haywood Faulk and the late
Mr. Faulk.The bridegroom is the son
of Mr. Charles Maroney, Sr. of
Fayettevillc. Grandparents of the
groom are Mr. and Mrs. Rudyard
Kipling Nash of Raeford.
Miss Faulk was given in marriage
by her uncle,Malcolm B.Culbreth of
Sclina. She wore a floor length gown
?af crystal satin peau trimmed in
Alecon lace and a floor length train
attached to a J uliet cap. She carried a
cascade of pink sweetheart roses,
'white carnations and babies breath.
Mrs. Karen Rosa of Colonial
Heights, Va. sister of the bride, was
matron of honor. She wore a floral
knit gown with matching hat and
carried a bouquet of pink and white
carnations and babies breath.
Bridesmaids were June Marie
Culbreth, cousin of the bride of
Selma, Miss Becky Sue Pope of
Raeford and Miss Becky Greene of
Rockingham. Miss Terri Schaubcr of
Fayettcville, cousin of the bride was
Junior bridesmaid. All attendants
wore dresses and hats similar to the
matron of honor.
Miss Melissa Brock was the flower
girl. She wore a pink knit gown and
hat to malch and carried a basket of
rose petals.
Directing the wedding was Mrs.
Jack Pope of Raeford.
The bridegroom's grandfather.
Rudyard Kipling Nash, was best man.
Ushers were Kipling Nash Maroney.
brother of the groom, David Keaton.
Jeff Davis and Tommy Hardin.
Junior ushers was William Clayton
Faulk, brother of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of Hoke
High School and attended
Fayettevillc Technical Institute,
Sandhills Community College and is
a student of Pembroke State
University where she is majoring in
early childhood education.
Also, a graduate of Hoke High
* School, the bridegroom received a
degree in Architectural Drafting from
Fayettevillc Technical Institute. He is
employed with K and M Building
Contractors.

for the reception.
The bride changed to a dark pink
pant suit and wore an orchid corsage
lor travel. AFtcr a trip to Gallinburg.

Raeford.
Rehearsal Dinner
On Friday night after the
Mrs. Charles Ralph Maroney, Jr.
rehearsal, a steak dinner was given in
Fayotteville at the "Barn" honoring
the wedding party, parents and close
friends. Giving the dinner were the
bridegroom. Charles Ralph Maroney,
Jr.. his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Rudyard Kipling Nash, his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maroney Sr., of
Fayetteville and Capt. and Mrs.
Robert Rosa of Colonial Heights, Va.
Couple Honored
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Caddell of
Raeford were honored with "Open
House" on their forty ? ninth
wedding anniversary at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Homer Terry at
Rockfish on Sunday Feb. 29, 1976.
Mr. and Mrs. H.T. McColl greeted
the guests. Mrs. Paul Heath presided
at the register. Mrs. Henry Fowler
cut the three tiered cake, Mrs. Julian
Barnes poured punch and Mr. and
Mrs. Homer Terry said goodbyes.
They received many useful and
beautiful gifts.
The house was beautifully
decorated with spring flowers and
gold candles. Bell art formed the
decoration for the dining area. Bell
trees were fashioned from natural
branches painted white and graced

Miss Baker, Mr. Stone Married On Sunday
iviiss rauicia Ann baker became
the bride of Dairell Craig Stone in a
three o'clock ceremony at the First
Baptist Church in Raeford on
Sunday, March 7. The Rev. Jack
Mansfield officiated the double ring
ceremony.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and
Mrs. Robert P. Baker. Mr. and Mrs.
Carl Stone are parents of the
bridegroom.
Presenting the wedding music were
Candice Autry, organist and Don
Brock, Soloist, who sang "The
Twelfth of Never" and 'The
Wedding Prayer."
The church was decorated with
colonial columns topped with urns
filled with floral arrangements.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a formal gown of
dacron polyester organza, accented
with an empire waist and trimmed
with satin ribbons, the neckline,
having the yoke effect, was
appliqued with French imported lace
and pearls with crystal pleating. The
full organza skirt, the dieer puff
sleeves and the train were edged with
Chantilly lace and crystal pleating.
As a headpiece, the bride wore a
laced half - cap with waist length veil,
edged with matching lace. The
bride's bouquet was blue and white
daisies, carnations, stephanotis,
eucalyptis and babies breath.
Mrs. Glenda Wagner, sister of the
bridegroom, served as matron of
honor, and Miss Karen Brookshire.of
Fayetteville was maid of honor. They
wore formal gowns of blue print
accented with a V neckline, capelet
sleeves and an empire waistline. The
white picture hats worn by the
attendants were accented with blue
streamers. They each carried a white
basket of blue daisies and white
babies breath.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Ginger
Scott, Miss Debbie Baker and Miss
Gale Baker, all sisters of the bride;
Miss Charlene Averitt, Miss Sheryl
Dees, and Miss Theresa Phillips. They
wore gowns like those of the honor
attendants. Each carried a basket of
blue and white daisies with babies
breath.
Honorary bridesmaids were Miss
Debi Altman and Miss Geraline
Smith, both of Raeford. Wearing
formal gowns of yellow polyester,
each carried a long stem carnation
accented with streamers.
Miss Rene Harris, cousin of the
bride, served as flower girl. Dressed
identical to the other attendants,she
wore a blue floral headpiece. Robie
Currie, cousin of the bride, served as
ring bearer.
Robert Wagner, brother ? in ? law
of the groom served as best man.
Ushers were Robbie Baker, brother
of the bride, Jerry Johnson. Ricky
Clark, Donald Johnson, Ronald
Johnson and Charles Crowder, all of
Raeford and Stan Winberry, of
Garner.
The mother of the bride wore a
formal gown of blue polyester. She
wore matching accessories accented
with a white orchid corsage. The
mother of the groom was attired in a
beige formal gown accented with a
matching jacket. She wore matching
accessories and a white orchid
corsage.
The brides' grandmothers. Mrs.
Tom Baker. Mrs. Robie Harris and
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Caddcll
with intricately designed bells
decorated with gold braid, gold
glitter, and miniature love birds.The
bells were inscribed "Walter and
Lizzie 2-25-27".
Mrs. Caddell was presented a
yellow corsage with a miniature bride
and groom.
The inscribed bells from the
Register and the trees were given to
the Caddeli's.
Mrs. Caddell was Lizzie Liles from
Laurinburg; Mr. Caddell was from
Maxton.
Out of town guests were from
Raeford, Red Springs and Lumber
Bridge.
Engaged
Mr. and Mrs. WD. Morrison
announce ihe engagement of their
daughter, Dorothy Jean to James
Thomas Hall. Jr.. son of Mr. and Mrs.
James T. Hall.
A May 2l) wedding is planned at
the First Baptist Church in Raeford.
Mrs. Shapard
Is Honoree
Mrs. Tom Shaphard. who will he
moving lo Mi. Gilead later this
month, was honoree at a party given
by Mrs. David Sease and Mrs. Earl
Smith at the Sease home on Old
Farm Road, Monday evening.
Guests were served a dessert
course at the beginning of the
evening, after which three tables of
bridge were in play.
Mrs. Shapard was awarded the
high score prize and Mrs. Dick
Lovette, the consolation prize. The
hostesses presented Mrs. Shapard
with a pewter goblel as a going away
gift.
Mr. and Mrs. B.Br Cole had as their
weekend visitors, her sisters. Mrs.
F.C. Cain of tlizabethtown and Mrs.
Carl C. Huie and Mr. Huie of
Charlotte.

Mrs. Delia Harris, great grandmother,
all of Raeford, and the groom's
grandmother Mrs. E.H. Buffkin, of
Whiteville, wore corsages of white
carnations.
Recept ion
Immediately following the
ceremony, the bride's parents were
hosts for a reception in the church
fellowship hall. Assisting at the
reception was Mrs. M.K. Sessoms, Jr.
Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs.
B.L. Duke of Durham
The wedding cake was baked and
served by Mrs. L.H. Struman. cousin
of the groom, from Whiteville.
Serving the punch was Mrs. Marie
Baker, aunt of the bride, from
Aberdeen. The table was decorated
with a large arrangement of daisies
and ecucalyptis. Music was presented
by Miss Tara Barnes throughout the
reception.
For travel, the bride wore a blue
pant suit with matching accessories
and a corsage of carnations and
daisies lifted from her bridal
bouquet.
Following a wedding trip to
Williamsburg the couple will reside
on Route 2.
The bride is a sophomore at
Pembroke State University majoring
in sociology and economics. She is a
member of Kappa Delta Sorority.
The bridegroom attended Pembroke
State University and is employed by
Knit-Away.
Bridesmaid Luncheon
On Saturday, March 6. the bride
was honored with a luncheon given
by Mrs. Robert Wagner at the home
of Mrs. J.W. Walkei. on Magnolia
Street.
Places were set for sixteen guests.
Those attending were mothers of the
bride and groom, members of the
wedding party, and Mrs. M.K
Sessoms, Jr.. director of the wedding.
At this time the bride presented her
attendants with gold necklaces which
were worn in the wedding.
