Lancaster, were married February 22 at Ashley Heights Baptist Church. The Reverend Robert Denton officiated tor the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by Mrs. Debbie Mollingsworth of Aberdeen, church pianist, and Jane Scllars of Raelord, vocalist. The church was decorated in a colonial color scheme with ivory candles in arched brass candelabra and matching baskets tilled with white gladioli, carnations, pompons and dried Baker's fern. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal colonial gown of ivory cotton with empire waistline and mutton sleeves inset with heavy lace. Her two - tiered veil of ivory illusion was attached to a lace ? appliqued Juliet cap. She carried a white Bible topped with a colonial bouquet of white orchids, pompons and ivory baby's breath with ivory ribbon streamers tied in love knots with stephanotis. The matron of honor and sister of the bride was Mrs. Gail Byrd of Pineblutt. who wore a long gown of soft red and ivory and carried a bouquet ol white pompons, ivory baby s breath.and gold straw flowers tied with ivory streamers. The bridesmaids, whose gowns and (lowers were identical to those of the honor attendant, were Marion Moss and Bonita Stephenson of Aberdeen, the bride's cousins: and JerriAnn Wall of Tucson. The bridegroom, a graduate of Hoke County High School, attended Pembroke State U.. and is now serving with the U.S. Army at Ft. Rucker, Ala. Following the rehearsal, the bride's parents entertained with a cake cutting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Moss in Southern Pines. The party honored the bridal couple, their attendants, and close friends. A prc-rehearsal supper was given by the bridegroom's parents at their home in Raeford for the immediate families of the bridal couple. McDonald, Sr. and her sister, Mrs. Claude Bishop of Goldsboro, have returned from a cruise to South America. Mrs. and Mrs. Carson Davis. Jr. spend the weekend in Raleigh, where they were joined by friends from Brookneal, Va. Bridal Showers For Mrs. Gibson Mrs. Danny Gibson, recent bride, was honored at a miscel laneous bridal shower March 5 in the home of Mrs. Nelda Baucom. Hostesses were Mrs. Jim Stephens, Mrs. Dale Baker, and Mrs. John Daniel. Mrs. Gibson was presented a corsage of white carnations. After guests played several games, the honoree opened and displayed her gifts. Guests served themselves to nuts, mints, and cake from the dining room table which was centered with an arrangement of blue, white, and pink gladioli. Mrs. James R. Conoly, aunt of the bride, poured punch. Mrs. Danny Gibson was honored at a floating bridal shower Wednes day evening of last week at the home of Mrs. William Davis. Hostesses were Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Butch Posey. The dining table was centered with a five-branched candelabrum holding yellow tapers. Cake, mints, and nuts were served. Punch was served by aunts of the bride. The gift table was centered with a yellow wedding bell with yellow net streamers decorating each corner. Mrs. Gibson was given a corsage of yellow and white carnations and a blanket by hostesses. Circle Honors Oldest Members Mrs. Katie Livingston, 91, Mrs. Ann McNeill, 89, and Mrs. Mary Jane McKenzie, 89, the three oldest members of Circle #1, Antioch Presbyterian Women of the Church, were honored at the March meeting held Wednesday of last week at Mrs. J.W. Walker's. The 11:00 a.m. meeting was followed by a noon luncheon. Each honored guest received a corsage of camellias. Mrs. A.S. Baldwin was hostess for the circle and there were 15 members present. Mrs. Walker's home was deco rated throughout with early Spring flowers. U.D.C. Meets With Mrs. McKeithan Mrs. M.L. McKeithan and Mrs. H.H. Goff of Fayetteville, were hostesses to members of the Rae ford Chapter of the U.D.C on Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. McKeithan on Magnolia St. Those on the program were Mrs. Julian Wright who read "The Genius of the Southern Woman" from Women of the South In War Times, and Miss Josephine Hall who gave a humorous article "Wit and Repartee" from N.C. Women of the Confederacy. Mrs. McKeithan. who is the daughter of a veteran, showed the Medal of Honor her father re ceived.
