The occasion was sponsored by the Education Department of the Raeford Womans Club and the Hoke County Citizens United for the Improvement of Reading. Purpose of the meeting was to bring together those persons in the county whose common interest and vocation is children and their relationship to books and libraries. Among the topics discussed was how the public library can co operate with a plan to keep school libraries open in the summer by providing more service such as regular story hours in the school libraries and use of public library materials.
