Gasoline .Obsolete A major invention that could possibly revolutionize modern transportation was invented in Raeford last' week by a twelve year-old boy who resides on Prospect Ave. Lockwood Ames, son of Mr. and Mrs. Felhart Ames of 6408 Pros pect Ave. in Raeford has invented a replacement for gasoline as a fuel for engines of automobiles. Young Ames explained that water with a teaspoon of salt and a touch of honey will act as a fuel when mixed in the proper quanti ties. He said if the person using the new fuel wanted to obtain better mileage, he could add some tooth paste so it would hold together better, and last longer. Ames said the new fuel has been tried out in several different sizes and kinds of cars and the results were amazing. ? "I can't believe someone hasn't come up with this mixture before now. Of course, 1 will not release the correct formula for the new fuel IMitil all the major oil companies hand in their bids for the inven tion," he said. He said he expects to make millions and will probably buy Raeford and turn it into a plant to make the fuel after it has been bought. "The new fuel will be very cheap and possibly might be made into a fuel that could be used for heating and air conditioning later," he said. Ames said he had not decided what he was going to call his invention. "1 don't know what 1 will call it yet, but it will probably be something like sloof lirpa," he concluded. TFC Screen Repair Workshop April 13 At Cameron Center The Senior Citizens Club of Hoke County is sponsoring a workshop on repair of window screens and screen doors on Tuesday, April 13 from 9:30 A.M. to 4 P.M. in the Cameron Heights Neighborhood Center. Willie Featherstone, Jr., housing specialist in the county agent's office, will conduct the workshop, along with two workers from Four-County Community Services who are in the "Weatherization" program. Senior citizens who have screens or doors in need of repair are Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue. (Psalm 120:2, RSV) Crash! Jimmy stood amid the ruins of my favorite potted geran ium plant. "It was an accident. Mom," he sobbed. "1 didn't mean to break it, honest to God!" Honest to God. The words echoed in my ears. They'd come from ten-year-old Jimmy's heart, but how many times had 1 heard the same expression - when it was just a casual phrase! Are any of us ever really honest to God? ?ROYALTY? Continued from page 1 (jfficial ceremony on the courthouse lawn scheduled at 11:30 A.M. The McLauchlin Co. will sell screen wire at the center at a 10 per cent discount. If new molding is needed, it will be furnished free of charge along with tacks. When we've committed a wrong, are we praying because we are sorry, or are we saying, "Make things all right again so 1 don't suffer the consequences?" Do we rationalize God's word? Do we deceive ourselves by our busyness rather than living as disciples? In seeking specific blessings, do we pray "gimme" prayers, or are we genuinely prepared to accept God's will? It's perilously easy to fall into the dishonesty trap -- to deceive ourselves and others. But Jimmy's assertion of good faith had recalled a truth. There is One who reads our innermost thoughts and rationali zations, who knows our deceptions even better than we do. God will never deceive us, but are we honest with Him? PRAYER: O God. show us the dishonesty in our lives and lead us into Your truth. Amen.
