Rock fish News by Mrs. AA. Mclnnb Attendance was fairly good at Tabernacle Church Sunday and the carpenters have reached the top in building the Fellowhsip Hall. Revival services began at Pittmann Grove Chruch last Sunday night and will continue to Friday night. Rev. Ben Ferguson is visiting minister, the Rev. George Chaney conducted a very successful meeting at Dundarrach Presbyterian Church last week. The Actecns girls of Pittman Grove Church were at the Associational meeting in Fayetteville Monday night. Mrs. Billy Cox and son Tripp of Route 4, Raeford visited her grandmother Mrs. A.W. Wood Thursday. David Wood of Flon College and Mark Wood of Raeford visited their grandmother Mrs. A.W. Wood Sunday afternoon. Mrs. W.H. Schell of Lumber Bridge visited her sister Mrs. Ethel D. Tanner visited Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Outlaw of Roxboro last Sunday. Thomas Mclnnis and his mother were supper guests at Mr. and Mrs. Smith Mclnnis Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Long and Miss Nellie McFadyen visited Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Long of Sneads Ferry last Friday. They spent the day and went to Jacksonville while there. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis McDowell of Raeford were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Long Sunday afternoon. Mrs. NJ. Ritter and her daughter, Mrs. Henry Epps and daughter Judy, visited Mrs. Nellia Dale Ray at Cape Fear Nursing Home Sunday P.M. Mrs. George Monroe and Mrs. Herman Koonce attended the WDC district meeting at Lumberton last Saturday. Mrs. Monroe and Mrs. Koonce also attended the Presbytereal meeting at Lumberton Tuesday night. Mrs. Floyd Monroe was a birthday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm GiUis and his mother Sunday as they celebrated the birthday of Mr. and Mrs. Mike GiUis and some other members of the family. Mrs. Mary Mclnnis and son Thomas Mclnnis visited Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mclnnis of Raeford Sunday evening and Thomas attended the Cantata Calvary at Raeford Presbyterian presented by the church choir and guest soloist. Mrs. Gilbert Ray and daughter Kathy were birthday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mac Ray of Fayetteville last Sunday, celebrating Mrs. Mac Ray's birthday. It was not a big celebration, but a very enjoyable occasion and may site have many more happy birthdays. Mrs. Gilbert Ray took Iter mother. Mrs. Annie Brown, to visit relatives at Henderson last Friday. Mrs. Floyd Monroe and Mrs. Glenn Wood of the Raeford chapter of WDC attended the WDC convention at Lumberton last Saturday. Mrs. Martin Wood and Mrs. Wallace McLean also attended the Cantata Calvary, presented by the church choir and a guest soloist at Raeford Presbyterian Church last Sunday night. F.C.H. Mrs. Jesse Lee says all are doing fine at the Rockfish Family Care Home, but her husband, Jesse Lee entered Cape Fear Valley Hospital as a patient Tuesday. For good news they have a new granddaughter. Janie Lee White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James White. Mrs. Lee and the residents of the home didn't go to the church last Sundav.Mrs. Lee still has a vacancy if you ate interested call or come to see her. Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Caddell of Raeford visited their grandson and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Michael Sharp of Longwood last Saturday. J.W. Caddell was sick last Sunday, and unable to attend services at Tabernacle Church Sunday. Mrs. J.W. Caddell of Raeford was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Guy and sons Tony and Mike Sunday. Miss Mary Priest and her brother Francis visited Mrs. Maude Schaub on Owen Drive last Friday. Mrs. Homer Quick and Miss Mary Priest visited patients at the Adcox Nursing Home last Thursday. Cohen Outlaw of Bonnie Doone was a guest of O.L. Wood last Monday. Comment Someone has said. The light that shines fartherest shines brightest in the home. School Celebrates Books, Plans Apr. 28 Festivities West Hoke School celebrated National Library Week and an nounced plans for a Bicentennial celebration April 28. The school library club presented a program last week centering on classification of books, library decorum, and featuring poems and songs about libraries and books. The Club composed a song, "All I Want Is a Good Book to Read", sung to the tune of "All I Want for Christmas". The program ended with a Piney Grove Sets Easter Cantata Piney Grove Baptist Church will host Tlie Sandhill Choral Society April 18, at 7:00 p.m. in an Easter Cantata "The GI017 of Easter." The Choral Society is under the direction of Russell McAllister of Raeford, accompanied by Robert Murphy of Southern Pines. Fea tured as soloists for the evening are: Gloria McLaughlin, soprano; Hel en McLaurin, alto; Spencer Dock ery, tenor; Allen Morrison, bari tone. The public is invited. question and answer session in which members of the audience won prizes for giving correct answers. The club is under the direction of Mrs. J. McAllister, librarian. Tentative schedule for the April 28 program is: Fifth grades will do a square dance and the Virginia Reel. Fourth grades will do the Charles ton and a modern dance. Second and third grades will present a display of arts and crafts on the Bicentennial. First grades have learned patriotic songs and a march and have made Bicentennial hats.
