Sunday. June 20. at 6:00 p.m., at
Rockfish Grove Baptist Church.
The Rev. Robert Douglas
officiated.
Wedding music was presentd by
Mrs. Alice Greene, organist, and
Ola McGregor, vocalist.
The bride wore a dress of white
quiana jersey and Venise lace
designed with lace - trimmed V -
neckline, long cuffed bishop
sleeves, and a chapel train. A lace
and seed pearl Camelot cap held
her chapel - length veil and she
carried a bouquet of white carna
tions. daisies and baby's breath.
Attending her sister as maid of
honor. Lorrie Ann Bratcher of
Raeford wore a peach dress of
tinasita knit fashioned with halter
neckline, draped skirt, and short
capelet jacket with crochet edging.
Identically attired in apricot
dresses, the bridesmaids were

Honors Miss Gibson
Miss Julia Ann Gibson, bride
elect of June 26, was honored at a
luncheon at the home of Mrs. J.W.
Walker on Saturday at one o'clock.
Hostesses were Mrs. Bill Sellars,
Miss Jane Sellars. Mrs. Irvin
Currie, Miss Kathy Currie. Mrs.
Bob Gentry and Mrs. Carlton
Niven.
An arrangement of all white
flowers with satin streamers cen
tered the dining table, and the two
smaller tables were decorated with
miniatures similar to the dining
table centerpiece. White flowers
mixed with yellow were used in the
sitting room, where guests gathered
after lunch and the honoree opened
gifts presented her by her hostesses.

Mrs. Julian Wright was hostess
Thursday evening to the members
of _ her bridge club and three
visitors, Mrs. Charlie Morrison,
Mrs. Harold Gillis and Mrs. Belton
Wright.
Ice cream and cake were served
before the game and melon balls
during play.
At the conclusion of play prizes
were given to Mrs. Berder Niven,
member's high, Mrs. Morrison,
visitor's high, Mrs. Gillis, low and
Mrs. Earl Gordon, bingo.

Mrs. Sam Morris was hostess to
the members of her bridge club on
Tuesday evening of last week.
Other guests were Mrs. Jim Bowles.

Home made ice cream and
pound cake were served when
guests arrived, nuts and Cokes
during play.
At the conclusion of the game

The bride is a graduate of Hoke

an associate degree in science from

The bridegroom, a graduate of
Hoke County High School, is
attending FayetteviUe Technical
Institute. A member of the N.C.
National Guard, he is employed by
Knit - Away in Raeford.
The newlyweds will make their
home in Aberdeen.

of Greenville. S.C., were married
June 18. at 6:00 p.m.. in Cocoa
Beach, Fla.
The bride, who wore a pink and
white dress, was given in marriage
by her stepfather. J. Walter
Thomas.
After a wedding trip to Nassau the
couple will reside in Cocoa Beach
where the bridegroom is employed
at Kennedy Space Center as an
engineer.
After the wedding a party was given
by friends at the Top 'O Cap*
Hotel. Out of town guests were Mr.
and Mrs. J. Walter Thomas and
Mr. and Mrs. John W. Tyler of
Raeford.

7:30 p.m. ceremony Saturday in
the Central Church of Christ in
Eden. The Rev. Harold Ray heard
the double ring vows.
Wedding music was furnished by
Miss Betsy Webb of Greensboro,
organist, and B.H. Edwards,
soloist.
Miss Jane Winn of Carrboro was
maid of honor and the bridesmaids
were Mrs. Reggie Hundley of
Dunnville. Ky., cousin of the bride;
Miss Linda Walker of Eden,
and Miss Susan Britt of Asheboro,
the bride's cousins; Mrs. Ben
Edwards of Eden, sister ? in - law of
the bride; Mrs. Sharon Guthrie of
Gibsonville, and Miss Kay Dunn of
Bear Creek. They wore Mediter
ranean blue quiana dresses with
floral chiffon capes and carried
bouquets of multi ? colored spring

Johnson vacationed in Georgia last

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rose attended
the annual convention of the
United Family Life Insurance Co.
in the Bahamas June 14-18. The
convention was held aboard the
S.S. Emerald Sea which toured
Nassau and Freeport.

Smithfteld, announce the birth of a
daughter, Lesley Dianne, on June
16, at Moore Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Harrell is the former Yvonne

On Friday evening, the bride
groom's parents were hosts for a
post - rehearsal dinner at Meadow
Greens Country Club.
The bride is a magna cum laude
graduate of Elon College with a
B.A. degree in biology. The
bridegroom received a B.S. degree
in physical education from Elon
College.

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd McMillan of
Red Springs announce the engage

Lynn, to Charles H. McLendon Jr.,

don of Conyers. Georgia. Miss
McMillan graduated from the Uni
versity of North Carolina at Greens
boro in 1974 with a Bachelor of
Science in nursing. She is presently
employed at Emory University9
Hospital in research for the Geor

Mr. McLendon graduated from
Emory University in 1972 with a
degree in political science. He is *
presently attending Woodrow Wil
son College of Law in Atlanta. The
