^^(KLLaJ^L <^^\)QmXAs Mrs. Carlton Niven, Social Reporter, 875-3785 'McMillan-Moore Pair Speak Weddina Vows Miss Gwendolyn Ann Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hughes Moore of Raleigh, and Joseph Fulford McMillan Jr. of Jacksonville, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. McMillan of Raeford, were married at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at Westminster Presby terian Church in Raleigh. The Rev. Curtis Harper officiated the double ring ceremony. Wedding music was presented by Mrs. Mary Hanener of Raleigh, organist, and Tommy Rose of Raleigh, vocalist. ' The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white bridal flown of silk organza with Venise ace on English net bodice, Came ')ot sleeves, and A-line skirt with attached chapel train, bordered with lace. A matching lace head piece held her lace-edged fingertip veil, and she carried a bouquet of miniature white carnations, stephanotis and yellow sweetheart roses. Bridal attendants were Mrs. Douglas R. Carver of Boone, and Catherine Elizabeth Smith, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel T. Smith of WagTam, and niece of the bridegroom. Mr. McMillan was his son's best man. Ushers were John William McMillan, brother of the bride groom, and Dale Teal, both of Raeford. The bride, a graduate of N.C. State University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, has been employed as a teacher in the Sanford-Lee County Schools. The bridegroom is a graduate of N.C. State University and is a district engineer with Carolina Power and Light Company in Jacksonville. After a wedding trip to the coast, the newlyweds will reside in Jack sonville. Following the ceremony. Raleigh Police Chief and Mrs. Robert E. Goodwin entertained with a recep tion in the church fellowship hall. On Friday evening the bride * groom's parents were Hosts for a dinner at Howard Johnson's Res taurant honoring the wedding par ty, relatives and out of town guests. After church services, members gathered for a picnic lunch and reminiscing with about 110 present. The Rev. Ben Ferguson gave the invocation. Mrs. Charlie Baker, eldest Cono ly relative present, was remem bered with a gift; Christopher Neil Kotch - Klut+z S/Mgt. (ret.) and Mrs. Jesse C. Tew of Raeford, announce the marriage of their daughter, Sgt. Cynthia T. Kluttz, to Kenneth Kotch on June 7 in Newport News, Va. Mr. Kotch is the son of Mrs. John G. Kotch of Melboune, Fla., and the late Col. (ret.) Kotch. Mrs. Kotch is a graduate of Hoke County High School and attended Pembroke State Univer sity. She is serving with the United States Air Force at Langley Field, Va. Mr. Kotch served with the United States Air Force, attended Thomas Nelson College in Hamp ton, Va., and is employed with Pay-Less Oil Company in Newport News. The couple is at home in Newport News. Jones, youngest member of the family was presented a Bicenten nial Coin Collection and a $2 bill; and Cliff Conoly was remembered with a plaque for being the oldest Conoly father present. Officers elected for next year were: Don Conoly of Raleigh, president; Robert Jones, vice president; and James R. Conoly, secretary-treasurer. Bobby Conoly was the outgoing president. Creative Yarns Red Springs inuKsuAT.JUNtJ4.lV76 PAGES Blackburn - Sanders Wedding Held At Rockfish Sunday Miss Deborah Ann Sanders, daughter of Mrs. Louise Sanders of Rockfish, and Steven Dale Black burn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Blackburn of Fayetteville. were married Sunday afternoon at 3:00 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Rockfish. The Rev. Carl Strickland performed the double ring cere mony. A program of wedding music was furnished by Miss Jane Barnes, organist, and Lester Southern, vocalist, who sang, "The Wedding Prayer", "The Wedding Song", and "Whither Thou Goest". Two floor baskets filled with yellow and white mums and green ery, branched candelabra ana palm trees formed a setting for the ceremony. Two matrons of honor were sisters of the bride, Kathy Hendriic of Raeford and Wanda McCorquo dale of Fayetteville. Bridesmaids were Gail Conoly of Raeford, Becky Plummer of Goldsboro, Nancy Carita of Fayetteville and Ann Ferrell of Greensboro. They wore two-piece yellow and orange floral organza dresses with boleros, and yellow picture hats trimmed with maline. They each carried a long stem yellow rose accented with greenery. Children in the wedding were Lori Stewart and Douglas McCor quod ale. The bride was given in marriage by James Sanders, her brother. She wore a white gown of organza and Venise lace designed with empire bodice, lace-trimmed angel sleeves, and A-line skirt with lace trim on the chapel train. A lace-covered cap held her illusion veil, accented with matching lace. She carried a colonial bouquet of yellow and white rosebuds, seed pearls, baby's breath and greenery centered with a yellow-throat white orchid, and floor-length yellow and white rib bon streamers. The mother of the bride wore a floor-length, two piece baby blue ensemble. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a floor length, two-piece pink outfit. Both mothers had orchid corsages. Mr. Blackburn served as best man for his son. Ushers were Rodney Hodges, Harold Johnson, Kenny Blackburn and Dennis Bell, all of Fayetteville. and Doug Bass of Vander. Connell - Wilburn Norma Hardie Wilburn, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ludson Hardie of Clover, Va., and Charles Avery Connell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Jackson Connell of Rae ford, were married June 12, at 4:00 p.m., at the Raeford United Meth odist Church. The Rev. Kelly Wilson performed the ceremony. Mrs. Lewis Upchurch Jr. pre sented a program of nuptial music. The couple entered the church together. Tne bride wore a gown of beige lace and carried a bouquet of spring flowers. Steve and Carolyn Wilburn and Steve and Cindy Connell joined their parents at the altar. The couple are at home on College Drive. Mr. and Mrs. Hardie entertained with a wedding brunch on June 12. Places were laid for 20 guests. The dining room table had a centerpiece of pink and white roses and baby's breath. The menu consisted of ham, grits casserole, creamed chicken and glazed fruit. Pound cake topped with lime sherbet was served for dessert. Mrs. Steven Dale Blackburn Following the ceremony, the bride's mother entertained with a reception in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Ethel Bass of Vander and Mrs. Lilly Capps of Raeford served cake, and Mrs. Jackie Snyder of Linden poured punch. Kathy Bru ton presided at the register. The bridegroom's parents were hosts for a cookout Saturday evening after the wedding rehear sal. After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, the couple will reside in Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dickson returned to Chapel Hill on Tuesday after spending the past week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dickson. Mrs. Jesse C. Tew visited her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kotch, in Newport News. Va., last week. Boone where Mr. Blackburn is a senior at Appalachian State Uni versity. The bride is a graduate of Fayetteville Technical Institute. Saturday at one o'clock, Mrs. Julian Barnes and her daughters, Marilyn and Jane, gave the brides maids luncheon at their home. Pink daisies decorated the buffet table and centered the luncheon tables. Miss Sanders was presented a wrist corsage of white carnations and gifts of silver in her chosen pattern. Tracy and Kim Parker left Sunday to spend a week at Camp Indian Cove in Virginia. Clarence Lytch and Miss Sara Lytch attended a reunion of the descendants of W.C. McNeill on Sunday at the Red Springs Presby terian Church.
