Misses Lib and Lois Sumner spent Sunday in Rowland with their sister. Mrs. Henry Crawford. Mrs. H.D. Patterson of Wallace spent Sunday with her sister, Mr. kind Mrs. W.H. Schell. Mrs. Dennis Clifton is at home and is getting along very well. Mrs. Ida Smith and grandson Chris Thompson, visited her sister. Mrs. Marvin Nailor in Autryville, Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Spears attended the Spears family reunion in Clio, South Carolina Sunday. Mrs. Margaret Hamilton of Lumberton spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. A.F. Tolar. Mr. and Mrs. Alfreda Tolar of Red Springs visited them in the afternoon. Mrs. John Covington spent from Friday evening until Monday morning with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jon Evans, Allison and Susan in Raleigh. Allison came home with her and is spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Maxwell and family in Dundarrach. Mrs. Ruth McArthur of Fay ?Reville visited Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Schell Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Sumner of Fayetteville spent Sunday after noon with Mr. and Mrs. S.E. iLimner and Miu Pamela Sumner. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Vol. Fire Department held their month ly meeting at the Fire Station Tuesday night. Our community extends sym pathy to Mrs. John Best and family in the loss of their husband and father, who passed away last Friday after a long illness. Mr. and Mrs. J.F. McMillan attended the funeral of Mr. Clarence Hughes Moore in Raleigh Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. J.F. McMillan. Jr. who were married June 19. were on their wedding trip when her father passed away, last Thursday. Rev. Stacy A. Wells, pastor of Lumber Bridge Baptist Church delivered a good sermon on "The Church Empowered" Sunday. The attendance was very good. Miss Sally Lou Hall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger F. Hall has been elected "Miss Ruritan" of 1976 and will represent the Parkton Ruritan club at all official func tions until her successor is chosen next year. Miss Hall is a rising senior at Pembroke State Univer sity where she is majoring in physical education. The Parkton High School grad uating class of 1971 held their class reunion at St. Pauls Community Building Saturday night. Fifty were present, including the Principal and two teachers. The group will leave from McLauchlin Park on Saturday. July 10 at 3 P.M. All participants must be at least 12 years of age and if younger, they must be accom panied by a parent or guardian. Periodic rest breaks will be taken and the pace will be slow enough for all to enjoy themselves. The trip should take about two and one half hours. Maps will be given to each rider at the start of the trip.
