Miss Calloway Is Bride
Of Charles T, Wa
Linda Ellen Calloway and
Charles Thomas Wall were united
in marriage in a double ring,
candlelight ceremony Saturday at
, the First Baptist Church in Rock
ingham. The Rev. G. Carl Lewis
officiated for the 7:00 p.m. vows.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs.
Martha Hough of Rockingham and
Leonard Calloway of Rarford. She
is a 1973 graduate of Richmond
Senior High and a 1975 graduate of
Central Piedmont Community Col
lege with a degree in dental
hygiene.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Thomas Wall of
Rockingham, is a 1971 graduate of
Rockingham High School and is a
senior at East Carolina University.
He is presently employed as direc
tor with the Richmond County
Parks and Recreation Department
in Hamlet.
A program of wedding music was
presented by Miss Mary Lewis,
, organist, and Joseph G. Davis Jr.,
vocalist.
Given in marriage by her par
ents,,. the bride wore a white
organza and venise lace gown,
> fashioned with pin tucked pinafore
bodice with lace outline, lace
standup collar, lace-cuffed bishop
sleeves, and vertical lace panels
down the full A-line skirt. Bands of
lace bordered the hemline and full
chapel train. A lace bridal capulet
held her elbow length tiered veil
which was edged in lace, and she
carried a bouquet of white roses,
gypsophila and stephanotis with a
lift-out white orchid corsage.
Miss Jenny Nichols, maid of
honor, wore a formal apricot voile
dress combined with dotted swiss
and venise lace to form a square
neckline. Her picture hat was
trimmed with tulle bow and
streamers.
Bridesmaids were Miss Debra
Marie Cole of Rockingham, Miss
Theresa Lynn lvey of Aberdeen,
cousin of the bride, and Mrs.
Charles Meacham of Rockingham.
Their gowns were like the maid of
honor's and they carried large
pickardy mums with gypsophila
and white streamers.
Honorary attendants were Mrs.
Dale Denson of Rockingham. Mrs.
W.R. Sheets of Southern Pines,
Miss Cynthia Ann lvey of Aber
deen, cousin of the bride. Miss
Marie Rayfield of Wadesboro. and
Miss Kimberly Barnes of Raeford.
Miss Amy Meacham of Rocking
ham was flower girl, and Stephen
Thomas of Pineville, cousin of the
bride, was ring bearer.

The bridegroom chose his father
as best man. Groomsmen were
Michael Stuart Wall of Rocking
ham. brother of the bridegroom.
Leonard Roger Calloway Jr. of
Raeford. brother of the bride.
David Thomas Walters of Green
ville, cousin of the bridegroom,
Charles Floyd Meacham Jr. and
John Robert McKenzie of Rocking
ham, and Donald Stephen DeMay
of Raleigh.
Mrs. H.K. lvey of Aberdeen,
maternal grandmother of the bride;
Mrs. W.H. Calloway, paternal
grandmother of the bride; Mrs.
Betty Walters, aunt of the bride
groom, were remembered with
corsages of white pompon carna
tions.
A wedding reception, given by
the bride's parents, was held in the
church fellowship hall immediately
following the ceremony.
After the reception the bridal
couple left for a trip to Florida.
They will make their home in
Bethel.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Calloway.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Calloway and
Mr. and Mrs. Billy McNeill were
hosts for a dinner last Wednesday
night at the Ralph Calloway home
to honor the bridal couple.
The tables, where covers were
laid for 16 guests, were spread with
white linen and centered with
crystal bowls with fruit.
Special guests were the bride
groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Wall of Rockingham, and
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Calloway
and children of Raeford.
The honorees received a gift of
crystal.
Ward-Ballard Wedding
Miss Pamela Ann Ballard, daughter
of Mrs. Duncan Morrison and the late
Roby L. Ballard Jr., became the
bride of Thomas Carl Ward, son of
Mrs. Carl Ward of Washington, Iowa,
and the late Mr. Ward, at
Cumberland Methodist Church,
Sunday, August 15, at 2:00 pjn. The
wedding was also given by Mr. and
Mrs. Levin F. West of Red Springs,
grandparents of the bride. The
Reverand Jack Martin officiated for
the double ring ceremony.
Music was provided by Miss Mary
Ann Martin, pianist, and David
Grimes, Jr., vocalist.
Given in marriage by her
grandfather, Levin F. West Sr.. the
bride wore a floor-length princess
style gown of white organza with
puffed sleeves inset with heavy lace.
Her two-tiered, elbow-length veil of
white illusion was attached to a
chant illy lace and pearl juliet cap.
She carried a cascade of yellow
carnations, green and white daisies,
gypsophilia, and ivy.
The matron of honor was Mrs.
Louise Carter of Fayetteville, who
wore a long gown of satin overlaid
with green flowered organza. She
wore a green wide brim hat accented
with green satin ribbon. She carried a
single yellow carnation backed with
baker's fern and tied with green
ribbon.
The attendants, whose yellow
gowns and flowers were in the same
pattern as that of the honor
attendant, were Mrs. Kathy Grimes
Ballard of High Point, and Mrs. Linda
Reckerd Ballard of Fayetteville, both
sisters-in-law of the bride.
The junior bridesmaids were Lisa
Ballard, of High Point, niece of the
bride, and Kim Smith of Raeford,
cousin of the bride.
Richard F. Ward of Red Springs,
served as best man for his brother.
Ushers were Roby Ballard, of High
Point, and Davy Ballard of
Fayetteville, brothers of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was given by Mr. and Mrs.
Duncan Morrison, in the church
fellowship hall. Assisting with the
ifccake cutting and serving were Miss
Mary Lou Reckerd, Mrs. Peggy B.
Carter, cousin of the bride. Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Smith of Raeford assisted

The bride is a graduate of West
Mecklenburg High School in
Charlotte, and Pembroke State
University, where she majored in
Home Economics. The bridegroom is
a chief warrant officer in aviation.
