Weekend College
Spring Registration
Fayetteville State University's
Weekend College will conduct
? registration for spring semester.
Cycle I, Friday, Dec. 3 from 5:30 to
8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 4 from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Rosenthal
Building at the university's Main
Campus on Murchison Road.
Students may also register at the
Ft. Bragg Center on weekdays Nov.
30 through Dec. 20 from 9 a.m. to
5 p.m.

General Fund Rises
October, 1976, net General Fund
collections amounted to $124.0
million as compared with S121.2
million collected in October, 1975,
an increase of $2.8 million, or 2.33
per cent, according to state revenue
officials.
For the first four months of the
current fiscal year, net General
^Fund collections were S535.4 mil
lion compared with $480.3 million
for the first four months of the
1975-76 fiscal year, an increase of
S55.1 million, or 11.47 per cent.
October net Highway Fund
Collections amounted to $26.4
million compared with $25.9 mil
lion collected in October, 1975, an
increase of $0.5 million, or 2.00 per
cent. Gasoline tax receipts
amounted to $24.0 million com
pared with $23.4 million collected
in October. 1975, an increase of
$0.6 million, or 2.54 per cent.
Net Highway Fund collections
for the first four months at the
current fiscal year were $110.4
million as compared with $107.8
million collected during the first
four months of the 19/5-76 fiscal
year, an increase of $2.6 million, or
2.45 per cent Gasoline tax col
lections for this four month period
were $99.1 million as compared
with $97.0 million collected during
the corresponding period of the
1975-76 fiscal year, an increase of
$2.1 million, or 2.15 per cent.

N.C. Humanities Committee
Awards Grant To Libraries
The North Carolina Humanities
Committee has awarded a S3. 735
grant to the Sandhill Regional
Library System to sponsor a
program discussing government
support of the arts and humanities.
Director of Libraries William G.
Bridgman announced the award
and said the program will be
resented in a three - part series,
eatured speakers will be Dr.
George L. Fouke, St. Andrews
College; Sam Ragan, editor of The
Pilot, Southern Pines; and Dr.
R.W. Reising, Pembroke State
University.
The series will also involve local
people in the open forum dis
cussion of federal, state, and local
government's role in financial and
other support of the arts and
humanities.
The series will be presented in
each of the five counties of the
Sandhill Region: Anson, Hoke,
Montgomery. Moore and Rich
mond. The Hoke County program
will take place in January and
February at the Hoke County
Library. The programs will be free
of charge and open to the public.
The North Carolina Humanities
Committee has awarded five
previous grants to the Sandhill
Regional Library System.
Woodmen To Hold Square Dance
There will be an old-timey square
dance at the Woodmen of the
World building on Friday, Dec. 3
at 8 p.m. sponsored by the
W.O.W. Grove 6179.
Music will be by the Blue Grass
Tar Heels. Admission is $1 per
person.
